I’ve had nothing but issues with this company ever since I ordered my shutters in January- we paid £750 upfront and were told that they’d be fitted in May. When they arrived in May, they were the completely wrong size so they had to be re-ordered. I was informed that they wouldn’t be ready until September- at this point I asked to cancel my order as I wanted my money back, however they refused. They were then due to be fitted on the 10th September, i called them on the 9th to ask what time they’re coming tomorrow, however at this point I was told that they’ve been delayed by an extra 5 weeks, so they couldn’t be fitted until October- no one even bothered to let me know. Due to the issues, I informed Hilary’s that I’m not willing to pay the outstanding balance of £250. I’ve now received a letter stating that if I don’t pay, they’re going to take me to court. I’ve had to wait 10 months for our shutters to be fitted, the customer service has been shocking and I DEFINITELY WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THEM.

Absolutely abysmal company. Our poor experience started with the design fitter quoting the incorrect lead time for shutters. We let this slip at first, but once our fitting date came and nobody showed up, we had to ring Hillary’s to be told that the shutters wouldn’t be fitted today as the fitter had left the company. I asked to speak to a manager and was told I would be contacted back within 3 days, which came and went and nothing. This happened a further 3 times of me chasing them. We finally got our new fit date which was over 2 months later than the original and were promised a good will gesture for our poor experience. We had to chase multiple times for this and today we finally have been offered a ridiculous £150 good will gesture for a £3900 order. I would never recommend to use Hillary’s. For such a big company we expected much better than the poor service we have experienced. Go elsewhere for blinds and shutters.

These blinds are said by Hillary’s to be prefect .These are replacements blinds that took 5 months…..as the 1st ones were as bad . These do not resemble the advertised Blinds that they show on television or their website or in magazines. The stitching is shocking but I have been told they are up to Hillary’s standards…….!!!!!!!!!!!

6 months on for the most traumatic experience I have had with any company today I had to write a letter of intent. If Hillary’s dose not do the right thing then we will be off to small claims court. Now it is not about the money it’s about the appalling way I have been treated as customer. This company needs to take a long hard look at its self and decide if the direction that they have chosen is correct….which is where they put monetary gain over customer care !!!!!!!!

Yet again another traumatic day dealing with Hillary's . Please take note if you want quality products and quality fitters do not use this company. They provide you with products, not fit for purpose …. Absolutely appalling customer service ….please please do not use

After having my sons blinds replaced because they were so bad ( it took 5 months and 47 phone calls and 26 hours of my time ) the replacement ones were as bad and the fitter damaged my sons walls . I have ask for a replacement or a refund as I am by law entitled to .They have offered be £50 ……..I will be taking them to small claims unless they trying to solve the situation. Absolutely appalling customer

Having been told that my sons replacement blinds ( that took 5 months 47 phone calls and 26hours of my time ) to replace Hillary’s consider to be fine . I on the other hand don’t. They have offered me £50 compensation for the damage the fitter caused to my sons walls . The law of our country is they have to replace the blinds until I am happy or give me a total refund. If they refuse to do either, then we go to small court . Never ever have a come across a company that treat they customers in such an appalling manner . Please for your own mental health do not use this company. My battle continues and I will not give up

Appalling customer service. Started off great, lovely sales chap, fitter was lovely. Post fit day it all went downhill. Our vertical patio blinds arrived the wrong size on the length so are just dragging along the floor. A manufacturing issue apparently. We had perfect fit blinds installed on some other windows and the following day a double glazed unit had a crack in it. The windows were brand new a month or so beforehand. It looks like a stress fracture where the blinds are fit too close to the glass and do not accommodate for (very normal) thermal expansion. The mind boggles. Hilary's have been a nightmare to contact - I sent the claim form over 3 times over the course of a few weeks before getting a response (all the while having a shattered window that we can not replace without removing/damaging the blinds so these need to be removed/reinstalled). Eventually they got back to us and we have sent a quote over for the replacement double glazed unit. They have come back asking that this is in a non editable format (it is a word doc, it is a small local company) as if the authenticity is in question. The format of a document can be easily changed by anybody with basic PC knowledge (I work for a tech firm) so this being sent in a format other than word would not confirm the authenticity. Hilary's are welcome to contact the company directly to verify this themselves, or indeed arrange a quote and replacement themselves, since the damage is a result of their product. They have also asked for the quote to be VAT registered. The quote does not include VAT (as I said, a small, local company so not VAT registered) so why on earth would they require this. Absolute absurd comments and I have been hung up on after being on hold on 3 separate occasions now. I am fuming at such terrible service from an allegedly reputable company and at the point of considering demanding a full refund since the security and safety of my windows is clearly not guaranteed with their product. I will be escalating my complaint to all of the relevant bodies.

I have decided that every time i wake up due to stress dealing with this company I will write a review . Please please do not use this company unless you want to suffer with stress and post. Dramatic stress order. Never ever have I come across such shocking customer care . 5 months of dealing with them have made me ill and still the trauma continues

Very poor service and “made to measure” Venetian blond sis not for correctly. This was never resolved by the fitter, whose solution was to ignore calls and messages and no-show to appointment made to resolve issue.

I'm sure the blinds are nice...if you can ever get someone to come round and measure the windows! Last week we had an appointment scheduled for, which I stayed home from work for. About half 9 we had a message saying the lady who was coming to measure had got covid so wouldn't be coming. How long are we going to keep cancelling things for because of covid?! But ok, annoying but we agreed to rearrange the appointment for a week later (tomorrow). We have just had an email saying the person coming to measure (not sure if it would have been the same lady who had covid), will not be coming because they are ill! So we have wasted a week to again not have anyone come to measure! We already have a quote from another company but have put them off as we wanted another quote, and now we have totally wasted our time. Hillary's obviously don't want the business!

Worst experience ever! Oxford representatives came took measurements and the full amount of money in advance for my blinds, but samples never arrived. When the fitter came he said that he could not get a parking permit (like all the rest of the people who have ever worked in our place, and left). No one was answering my calls or texts after that! The company was sending me contradictory emails. Finally, I managed to get a refund after three months of poor communication and a summer without blinds. Avoid.

Wrong measurements for wrong rooms and wrong blinds for wrong rooms. Poor attention to detail. Delayed delivery dates and extremely poor customer service. Delivery dates were not met because the concerned person was on holiday and no one else could take over ?!! The customer services manager had no solution and there just wasn’t an escalation point. Poorly managed company.
