“Was sold Venetian blinds which have a manufacturing fault. Still waiting for Velcro to be posted to me so that the fitter can return. Hillaries is producing these with magnets which they know do not hold. Its a manufacturing fault which they’ve done nothing about. I was also sold “perfect fit blackout blinds” which are not perfect fit at all letting a window frame of light in from all sides. Cheap looking overpriced product which salesman sold to me that is not fit for purpose. I will never shop with Hillary Blinds again. Also the self-employed fitter they arranged was so booked up it took him two months to come. Appalling.”

“The second order of vertical blinds were fitted today by Advisor 118398. We have had an excellent service from ordering to fitting by this gentleman . The blinds are made beautifully & the end product excellent. We have been completely satisfied & very pleased we chose Hillary's blinds”

“Worst incompetent Company known to mankind that employ a pack of liers from start to finish. Had measuring done weeks ago (3 times because the first 2 measurings were wrong). We were told 4 weeks until fitting so fine with that at that point. Had to ring up after a month as no communication from them and were told they were ready and would be sent out to fitter for whom apparently had them delivered on the 8th Nov. Had to ring them again to see what was going on as we heard nothing and were asked if we'd had our measuring done??? After explaining that we were waiting for a date we were then told by the fitter that he'd sent them back as they were not correct. 3 days later we rang again and customer services said they'd sent them back to the fitter - we heard nothing again from the fitter so rang customer services again who said the blinds had been delivered to some woman from hillarys that was then going to drop them off that day to the fitter. The fitter then said he had them but was waiting for somebody to give him a hand with fitting them. Never heard anything again so called again to be told that they would contact the fitter (they allegedly did this whilst putting us on hold). We were then told it would be Friday 25th Nov (today) at 3pm. No fitter showed so rang customer services given all of the trash stories we'd been getting. They advised that the fitter had an issue with his tablet and one of the blinds was faulty (AGAIN) and had been sent back. Asked to speak to manager and was told they couldn't guarantee they'd call me back. I advised them that I wanted my blinds delivered direct to my house and forget them fitting it as they are clearly incompetent. This is only a number of calls we've had to make - if I'd listed all of the stories and calls this review would take an hour to write. They've had my money and have my blinds and still can't tell me whats going on. AVOID THESE IDIOTS. No doubt I will have to call them again and again so I'm just going to get in touch with trading standards to help resolve. I have dealt with some idiotic companies over the years but these lot are top of the pops. I would sack the lot of them as they clearly haven't got a clue and are not being managed by anybody competent either. No wonder there's a continuous sale on. I dread to think how the fitting would go hence the reason I won't be letting them in my home. GET MY BLINDS SENT TO MY PROPERTY OR RETURN MY MONEY THAT YOUVE HAD FOR OVER 2 MONTHS.”

“Decent service, friendly installer, communicated well in advanced when timescales changed, and was fitted well. A little pricey, but for what I wanted I couldn't find a self-fit option available to buy, so it was worth it.”

“I’ve had nothing but issues with this company ever since I ordered my shutters in January- we paid £750 upfront and were told that they’d be fitted in May. When they arrived in May, they were the completely wrong size so they had to be re-ordered. I was informed that they wouldn’t be ready until September- at this point I asked to cancel my order as I wanted my money back, however they refused. They were then due to be fitted on the 10th September, i called them on the 9th to ask what time they’re coming tomorrow, however at this point I was told that they’ve been delayed by an extra 5 weeks, so they couldn’t be fitted until October- no one even bothered to let me know. Due to the issues, I informed Hilary’s that I’m not willing to pay the outstanding balance of £250. I’ve now received a letter stating that if I don’t pay, they’re going to take me to court. I’ve had to wait 10 months for our shutters to be fitted, the customer service has been shocking and I DEFINITELY WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THEM.”

“I have fitted my own blinds before, but the lounge L-shaped bay window looked tricky so I called in the experts. The Hillarys agent Simon was excellent, really friendly and personable - he listened to our requirements, made a few suggestions, measured up and quoted a price that was lower than I expected given the measuring and fitting service included. A fitting date/time was agreed that was only a couple of weeks away - this was later confirmed by telephone when the blinds were delivered to the agent from the factory. The fitting, again performed by Simon, was a breeze, taking no time at all and, as expected, the blinds fitted perfectly and look great - really opening up what was a dark corner and making the whole room brighter and smarter. We could not be hapier with the product, price, and the service we received.”

“Perfect venetian blinds, fitted within minutes, like a bit of magic they transformed the kitchen instantly! I changed my mind about the size of the slats after ordering them and the consultant was able to accommodate that. The measure and fitting was to the millimetre. I'll be recommending Hillary's and ordering more.”

“Absolutely abysmal company. Our poor experience started with the design fitter quoting the incorrect lead time for shutters. We let this slip at first, but once our fitting date came and nobody showed up, we had to ring Hillary’s to be told that the shutters wouldn’t be fitted today as the fitter had left the company. I asked to speak to a manager and was told I would be contacted back within 3 days, which came and went and nothing. This happened a further 3 times of me chasing them. We finally got our new fit date which was over 2 months later than the original and were promised a good will gesture for our poor experience. We had to chase multiple times for this and today we finally have been offered a ridiculous £150 good will gesture for a £3900 order. I would never recommend to use Hillary’s. For such a big company we expected much better than the poor service we have experienced. Go elsewhere for blinds and shutters.”

“Our advisor 'Lavender' was also the fitter. He was professional and polite throughout. He rang and offered to arrive earlier than planned which suited us well. He was a clean and tidy worker, the motorised blinds fitted as planned and worked as they should beautifully. Thankyou .”
