sold my 80 yr old mother 2 blinds for £500, because she said she couldn't afford £750 quote, so he asked her 'how much can you afford?' she cancelled 2 days later but this was refused. .. 'Unfortunately as your order was placed on the 1st June, this is outside of our cancellation period (2 days, the first being the date the order was placed) I'm afraid as your order has been made we are unable to cancel this for you. ' Have written a pre-action letter and now been promised a refund

Many years we have used Hillary’s always pleased , and our local supplier was very good although very strange How first order was over 3000 and payed less for the next orders for the same thing , but still continued to use them , today I booked with Hillary’s, our local supplier phoned me, to tell me she could not do that time and I was out of the area and she was rove out ,I politely said we have business, and work 14 7 , and I would work round her times to try and be at home , I was then told I was pin pointing her down , she was so abrupt, after all these years , I will not use Hillary’s again , although I like there blinds very much , just wish j ohhhh had question the cost more ,as it seem to change so much , the more I ordered, anyway no worries I will happily go somewhere else , Thank you Hillary’s Linda

Complete shambles, how is this company still at the top and not shut down Our initial visit to measure was fine we paid upfront as required & were given a fitting date 3 weeks from then. 3 weeks later 4pm, still nobody shows. I phoned hillarys to be told nobody's coming, we don't even have the materials in stock. At this point I am raging, I've taken a day's holiday from work to wait around all day, and nobody's even phoned. They'd known they have no materials for 3 WEEKS and NOBODY INFORMED US WE WOULDNT BE GETTING OUR BLINDS. It is truly insulting and bewilders me that this company has no value for their customers wasted time. I've taken a whole day's holiday to have these fitted for nothing. After several attempts at asking WHEN these blinds are coming, their first answer was indefinitely. How can I wait around for blinds indefinitely,  it is not my problem to organise materials and stock, you need to keep your customers informed, and if you can't get materials then you need to be shut down quite frankly if you're going to keep taking orders, PROMISED BLINDS THAT DONT SHOW UP. Eventually I was told another 3 weeks later. At this point we considered (and wish I followed through) cancelling the whole lot and going elsewhere, however the earliest another local company could measure was another 3 weeks, so I wouldn't be saving time, and we were desperate desperate get blinds up as my son can't sleep with sun glaring into his room, and waking him up at 5am. I figured this is why hillarys never phone to update you, because if you assume your blinds are still coming  you will wait, however if I had known that they would take months, I sure as he'll would have gotten a refund and gone elsewhere!! We gave hillarys the benefit of the doubt and waited. I phoned the day before the next fitting, to be told they still don't have the materials, we still will have no blinds for another 3 weeks at least. My partner phoned and was then told they had part of the order, so can come and fit what they have on the fitting date. What a shambles, PART ORDERS? REALLY!? We went ahead, and thank God the child's rooms was fitted, which were fine. However all the bedroom blinds are too big, and overhang the window frame, meaning the end blind doesn't even sit central to the window!! We were offered a pathetic amount of compensation, which accounting my wasted days holiday I've had to take out now 3 times ready for the next fitting (or not!) Is embarrassing!!! We just want the blinds we paid for and good service, which is why we went with hillarys. It's turned out to be THE MOST DREADFUL COMPANY we've dealt with. Also stop getting your FITTERS TO CHUCK ALL THEY'RE RUBBISH IN OUR BINS WITHOUT PERMISSION. APAULING SERVICE, TOTAL SHAMBLEA, COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. You need to be shut down.

Ordered shutters beginning of February with a fitting date of 16.06.21. Phoned customer services on the 14.06.21 as had no reply to an email, spend 20 mins on the phone trying to get through and was then assured that the fitter would be in touch to confirm a time. I said this was essential as the house was empty and I would have to make a special journey to let the fitter in. Was assured by customer services that it was definitely in the diary and would happen. There was no contact with the fitter and no one came. I contacted the rep who originally came out, she was very helpful and also confirmed that it was definitely booked for the 16th and gave me the fitters number. I phoned the fitter and he said it wasn't a definite booking and that he would ring me the next day with a booking. Ive heard nothing since so I sent an email to hillarys only to get a reply saying they would try and reply to my email within 7 days. As I haven't had a reply form one sent on the 14th June, I'm not hopeful. Shutters cost over £1000 half of which they've had since Feb the other half taken in April, so they have had good use of my money. I too wish I'd read the reviews, what a shower, lets hope someone shuts them down.

The fitter came measured for blinds and curtains I told him I needed to sleep on it he said that was fine. The next day I decided against it so called to make sure any order would be cancelled even though he told us it wouldnt be ordered until a deposit was paid. (Which never happened) Months later Hillarys are calling for payment of items I do not and never did have threating to take me to court and bailiffs its been a nightmare. The customer services are extremely rude and unhelpful.

I told the adviser I wanted to block out street lights so blackout blinds needed. What has been supplied don’t even cover the windows and light streams in. I have complained and waited in all day for someone who was meant to call between 9 am and noon; twice customer service have said the person is coming but no one has turned up. I wish I’d read other peoples’ issues and avoided this company

Rude salesman, lied to us about lead dates. (Said 3 weeks but actually was more like 4 months!). Came across like he didn’t even want to be there. The surveyor was intimidating and insisted on me signing the paperwork when I did not feel comfortable. And to top it off the call centre staff are equally as rude. Crazy when you’re giving them £000’s. Will be taking my hard earned money elsewhere

I spend about £2500.00 on an electric awning about 9 years ago,it stopped working today so I called the customer service centre and asked if an engineer could take a look at it and that I was willing to pay for the diagnosis and repairs, I was told it was only covered by the guarantee for 5 years and should get a “ handyman “ to have a look at it, I saw a Bbc Watchdog site about Hillary’s Blinds and have sent them an email regarding the appalling customer service.

Never even measured windows before saying cost at least 1000 pounds I thought you has a sale on What did he just pluck a figure out of the air or are you not interested in sales !!!!! Will not recommend you

Would like not to give this shambolic company no stars would not recommend or have this 2 bit company do any blinds as they are poor quality send wrong blinds on several different occasions cause damage to ceiling in new extension and newly decorated walls in extension and then try a riddle out of everything this had been going on now for 6 months from first ordering ceiling blinds and having several attempts have still no blinds waiting for complete refund and see what they are going to do about all the damage they have caused NO ONE sat Hillary’s want to be held responsible or to rectify everything trading standards are now involved so WARNING Don’t buy anything from this company they don’t want to know you when things go wrong and very reluctant to refund any money

Booked a home consultation which was confirmed by email. Rep due to call between 6pm and 9pm. Waited in all evening without any sign of the rep or any contact to say he’d be late or not coming. Contacted the rep the following day to be told that he only received the appointment details at 8:30 the previous evening which doesn’t explain why he couldn’t have let us know he wouldn’t be calling. If this is how they conduct their appointments then I’m not interested in finding out how they make or instal curtains. Looking elsewhere.

Trustpilot reviews Search for a company or category… Categories Blog Mr Brian Travis For businesses Review of Hillarys Mr Brian Travis 2 reviews 1 star: Bad 21 hours ago HILLARYS BLINDS,NO THANK YOU Hillarys blinds fit curtains to my patio door after an initial consultation visit to my home, I chose the material and was led to believe linings suitable for deflecting car headlights ect would be fitted, however when fit, car headlights shone through the curtain fabric onto the internal walls, the material used was of poor quality and they were very poorly fit, I paid a total of £540 for what I received and I was very displeased at the quality. I contacted customer services and the fitter returned,ironed the curtains and made minor adjustments but things remained very unsatisfactory and the issues were not resolved. I again contacted Hillarys and requested another visit due to my issues and I was told a general manager would attend my home for a second opinion, several days later another blinds/curtain rep came to my home and after a brief discussion he agreed to have the curtains remade to include a black out lining and I was in agreement with this to resolve all issues, However after he went outside my front door to make a telephone call he returned to tell me that Hillarys would not now be doing what was suggested and told me that I would have to start from the beginning and contact customer service yet again. I am a 67 years old severely disabled man who is housebound and the news he gave me devourstated me and left me totally helpless not knowing how to deal with this very upsetting situation. I pray and hope that other elderly disabled people read my review and perhaps use a reputable company that will treat you with the respect you deserve and not leave you in such a distressing situation as I have been left in.

We ordered a set of shutters in January, expecting a delivery date at the start of May which seemed long but with covid thought it to be acceptable. However Hillary’s have been running us round the houses with a fitting date ever since. Despite calling them each week and asking for a fitting date since they missed the first one on May the 10th. I am on my 5th fitting date on which nobody has turned up. Despite being promised each time that somebody would call up and rebook with us. This is yet to happen. We spoke to them on the 2nd of June which they confirmed fitting on the 7th. However it turns out they’ve sent the fitter on a course instead. Again no communication. They don’t seem to care each time we call customer service. I’d really advise against using Hillary’s - the service has been terrible. Despite waiting 5 months for shutters I am no closer to get them. DO NOT USE

Awful service been waiting nearly a month for my blinds to be installed they never call with an update I had to call 4 times only to be told a number of times that my blinds had not been delivered! Still waiting & im not a happy customer

I ordered shutters for my entire house which were fitted in 2019. Two of the frames have cracked and split. I requested a call out and was charged a ‘nominal’ fee of £75. The engineer came and inspected he frames declared it was because of condensation and refused to accept that this was not the case. They have not returned any of my telephone calls to speak to a manager and the frames are still split. Can someone please tell me the “Peace of mind Guarantee” is because there is no peace of mind as the frames have not been fixed or replaced.

Was an easy Process, from choosing the blinds I required and measuring by the agent in person. The agent brought the blinds to my flat and fitted them in a short space of time. Very pleased with The workmanship, style and quality of my blinds.

One of the worst experiences in recent times. We have just moved into a new home. This means, we are dealing with multiple people & multiple companies; from plumbers to heat engineers to bed companies & sofa companies. We contacted Hillarys because they were recommended by a friend. Firstly, we had to wait for 2 weeks before they could arrange an appointment. We were okay with it because of course, all good things take time! The person was to come home between 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on a work day. This meant, we spent some time ensuring that the home is tidy enough for the person to walk to the windows to take the measurements etc. We waited until 6:15 PM post which, I called up Hillarys to find out what was going on. Guess what? Apparently, the person's system crashed and hence, they were unable to visit us. Well, fair enough. Technology isn't perfect but do they not have the provision to make a phone call and let the customer know? I was told by the advisor that the consultant from Hillarys will call us up directly to arrange a new time. Guess what? 3+ days and we still haven't received any call or email from Hillarys. Even a plumber provides a better service these days. Absolutely ridiculous to have waited for 2+ weeks and we're still nowhere closer to getting our blinds. Would recommend staying away from this company that doesn't even do a basic pre-sale communication.

We are not happy of any of the curtains installed. Not looking great. Poor quality workmanship , poor customer service. They took upfront money 3k they never turnup on the time slots given. Short curtains, uneven blinds, poor communication . Arrogant staff attitude by Tony etc. Take our curtains and give us the refund. Its better i hang some bedsheets for sure that will look much better
