Most appalling service I've ever experienced. Arranged an appointment on line last week for between 6pm & 9pm tonight. Confirmation email stated appointment for between 9am & 12pm, I then got a text message from an advisor asking what i wanted, told him i was interested in shutters but wasn't sure what would suit our windows, also told him that the appointment was wrong. He said he would ring me later to discuss what i wanted & he would change my appointment. He rang me that evening & told me shutters were really expensive & he couldn't do the evening appointment anyway so he would go back to head office & tell them i needed blinds. Obviously he decided from the sound of my voice that i couldn't afford their shutters!! Needless to say i have had no contact from Hillarys since that call & my appointment time of 6pm - 9pm tonight has been & gone with nothing. Will certainly never recommend this company & having now read other reviews i can only feel thankful that I've had a lucky escape

This company has the absolute worst customer service. Very unprofessional. I've been in my new home for 7 weeks and still waiting for my blinds to be sent for production!

Really bad customer service. We had Hillarys around to quote. The quote was much higher than we expected so we told them in the follow up call it was too expensive and would be going with someone else. After a couple of weeks of emails a texts about reductions they contacted us again. We agreed to have just the bay window done to see what kind of a job they would do. We made the order and were told that in 3 days max someone would contact us to measure up and book us in to fit them. 7 days later no contact, i had to ring and then email to get an explanation. They told me the fitters had made a mistake and would be in touch soon a couple of days later the fitter called and told me he could only get us in the following Friday so now two weeks after we paid in full the guy would be around to measure up not fit just measure. When the guy arrives explained to him what i wanted and he said the blinds are going to be 10cm longer them the first measurement so the price would be going up nearly £100. So after waiting for nearly a month to just get my blinds measured and two trips the price was reduced and then inflated back up to the original price because the first guy had not listen and measured wrong according to the fitter. In my opinion pure greed they just want to try and get more money out of you. I rang up to complain and was just told if I wasn't happy I would be refunded in 10 days. Massive waste of time from start to finish they have wasted 2 months of my time. I would never use this company.

I can't warn people against using Hillarys enough. It took them 6 visits over 2 months to fit our blinds and we are still having problems. To make matters worse the technician who fitted our blinds parked illegally in our neighbours space before driving over our hedge to leave and in doing so hit 2 cars. He then left without telling me or leaving a note on the cars. Hillarys would not acknowledge what had happened despite video evidence. Customer service levels are shockingly low and they couldn't care less about what a horrible experience we had.

Purchased Day to Night Connect Flint blinds and due to house move, asked fitter to take down the blinds, reinstall at our new property and measure up more windows so we could have flint blinds throughout. Fitter did not turn up for 5 pre booked appointments and failed to even phone to rebook. When we contacted Hillary’s asking for someone to attend, which they assured us would happen, the same fitter turned up demanding installation money. Terrible experience and would never use Hillary’s again. Appalling. Shocking response from Hillary’s. Been informed that there was a private agreement Between the fitter and ourselves. If a private charge was made, why weren’t we ever told about it and why was an invoice not sent to us. We had a total of 5 missed appointments. First time, no one showed us. Second time, we called him 30 minutes after the agreed time he was due to attend and he said he’d got mixed up with the appointment times as he had two appointments both with individuals called Rachel! Third missed appointment we were told he was stuck in Garstang, fourth and fifth missed appointments he just didn’t show up! We contacted Hillary’s who assured us a chap called Shahid would then come to the property between 9-12. Instead the previous fitter came, and when we explained that we wouldn’t be ordering any blinds with him due to his unreliability he then requested payment for installing 2 blinds. He became quite argumentative and intimidating when he was told no and eventually left our property. Hillary’s now tell us that the advisor became confused which is why she rebooked the same fitter to attend. Doesn’t quite make sense since we were told Shahid a different fitter would be attending! We would never use this company again and would advise anyone else to use extreme caution. Shocked and only when I have read similar complaints from other customers do you become aware that These fitters are self employed and commissioned based and sadly the service you receive is very much dependent on the fitter in your area. Please do be careful trusting these people in your homes

Absolutely appalling abhorrent customer… 1 star as 1 necessary to leave a review. Absolutely appalling abhorrent customer service from Hillarys. I was forced to wait 20 weeks for a patio shutter as the original with a 12 week wait had been measured not only incorrect however the complete wrong order made to what I ordered. Completely unfit for purpose. Didn’t fit the wall. I chased the issue 3 months after a few shutters had been fitted and wrote to Hillary’s customer service and received absolutely no courtesy response. The fitter may I add was a true gent. Now would you believe how lightening speed quick they are to ring for payment once a shutter I've waited nearly six months for arrives and I’m offered a ‘gesture’ of £50. Yes you read correctly £50. They think that is acceptable. My advice would be go elsewhere, you can get an extremely lower price with a made to measure service they clearly no longer offer on the primary visit. Even ‘% off sales’ don’t be drawn in by.. still more ludicrously expensive than many other competitors. I requested simply and primarily that the one shutter with all the issues we experienced should of been free of charge, simple as. No. Hillary’s insult you with a £50 fob off... Believe me, this company, and I’m not bitter I’ve used them for years due to their past exquisite service as have family and friends for years on recommendation. That ‘extra sophistication’ they always had and prided themselves on was worth it, however, in my factual experience they can no longer credit themselves with or supply this service. Save your thousands & go elsewhere ladies & gents! Through lack of one complimentary shutter they will via my network loose thousands. Their issue.

Your rep Debbie from the Harrogate branch was excellent. Fantastic interpersonal skills and was a pleasure to meet her. Would have loved to give her my order however the price was too high having had a better quote from another company. Big shame though as would have used Debbie again and again !!

I used Hillary's to buy curtains and had a fantastic service all round. I ordered shutters at the same time. Sales, fine. Measured (by their agent) okay (or so I thought). 3 month delivery as they are made in China. So... ordered in July to be fitted in October. October came and... turns out that the measurements made were not correct for fitting my living room shutters... I now have to wait until January to have them made and fitted, 6 months after my order. Customer service agent was very nice, but I was offered a £50 voucher as compensation (declined). No offer to take off the cost of the measuring service, or to fit for free as one might least expect for such an expensive item but such poor service. Seriously recommend that you consider competitors for a better service than the one I have received.

Couldn’t be any better! Rang the office to get an appointment, the local rep came out and helped me pick some gorgeous shutters for the lounge and some rollers for the kitchen at a really affordable price. He then came back and fitted them. Love them! Would definitely recommend.

The rep came to give a quote and was late - never a good thing for me. Spent time measuring and gave a quote written on the back of the brochure. Vague on final price and no itemising of the specification of blinds we wanted. Had to chase him for 2 days for final price. Returned to fit 2 weeks later and arrived almost 3 hours after he said he would be with us "soon". No apology offered. Fitting a total disaster. 1 of 3 blinds fitted OK but 1 was so off the required size that my 5 years old could have done a better measuring job. 3rd blind bore no resemblance to what had been ordered. Contacted Hilary's next day and spent over an hour on the phone trying to sort it out. Left to feel it was us at fault when it was so clear that they had completely messed the job up. Of course we had already paid so nothing doing on cancellation or refund. My advice would be to avoid this lot at all cost. Truly awful

They were about show up late to the 3 hour time slot they gave me. So I cancelled them. A waste of an entire morning. Forget them. A bad sign for anything beyond.

Avoid! Conned us into paying in full as they said they had no interest free credit offers. This was not true as we found out from a friend, and confirmed by Hillary's customer services. They apologised and said someone would be in touch to setup credit and refund the payment, only to be called and told we weren't entitled to credit after placing an order and it was too late to cancel the order. Basically once they have your cash they couldn't care less

Terrible customer service. One product had to been returned as it was faulty and 2 months down the line I am still waiting for a refund despite numerous phone calls.

Terrible company to deal with! I ordered some curtains which were wrong. Got the sales rep to send these back. Waited over 2 weeks only to be told that these had been lost. I was told that the company does not provide refunds as this had to be authorised by senior management which was a joke. All in all it took me 3 months to get the matter resolved. The sales rep Derek was as useful as pair of glasses on a bloke with one ear. When things went wrong, he did not respond to my text messages or phone calls. I would suggest you shop around and not use this company. The prices they charge are extortionate backed up with dismal customer service.

Here's a quick top line overview of what happened so you can hopefully make a better decision than I did and go with another provider. It's been the worst customer experience I've EVER had with any product purchase in my entire life (no exaggeration here). - 8 months from order to fitting (5 months delayed) - 3 failed deliveries due to faulty parts and 'mix ups' - Barely any compensation given (21%) for a 8 month wait and 3 days off work due to their incompetence - Complete lack of communication throughout and required weekly chasing calls and emails throughout to get an install done in 8 months. - They were however quick to chase me once it was in for the remaining balance! 1) Ordered the blinds in October 18 with a 'Christmas Install Promise' and an install date of the 17th December 2) Waited on the 17th for delivery which never came. I called in the afternoon after no communication at all and was informed that there's 'been a mix up' and it can't be done today 3) After days of chasing I was told it would be pushed to the new year and they would get in touch with a new date. They finally locked in a date after weeks of chasing (Feb now) 4) The fitter came in Feb and told me the real reason it wasn't installed in Dec and that was due to a huge over-order from them before Christmas when they knew full well that they couldn't fulfil the Christmas demand with the amount of fitters they had 5) The blinds and parts which arrived from China were backwards and the wrong way around on 2 panels so we had to take them down and order another set with more measurements. 6) Another 3-4 months later and more chasing from me and they finally got installed 7) After 8 months of chasing them for install, they were then calling me constantly and emailing me asking for full payment without even checking up on the install and service. 8) At each delay they tried to palm me off with a £70 discount (From £2000) for the 8 months delay which was just a slap in the face for the amount of time I'd wasted taking days off work for missed install days and huge delays, not to mention not having shutters up in the lounge being exposed to the main road for that long. Can't explain enough how painful that experience was and how completely useless the customer service has been. I sincerely hope you take this advice on board and go with someone else.

Highly recommend Hillarys! The shutters I've just had installed have completely transformed my living room and the advisor who fitted them was incredible. Fantastic service and will definitely use again.

Really happy with my perfect fit blinds. They've replaced a curtain that looked truly awful! I'm now left with a really neat looking set of french doors - and couldn't be happier with the service and product.

They cam, measured and assured us that what we want, a motorised blind, would be no problem. When we had paid the problems started. They would have to lay a cable across the ceiling (even though there are mains cables at both windows), they would have to install a socket besides the window (ceiling windows so in full view).... IN the end they suggested to install a non motorised blind (for what I assume would have been the same price as no reduction of cost was ever discussed)

Service was excellent also fitting blinds, paid half the total price as deposit, that was fine, but unhappy that the rest of the money was taken from our account well before the blinds were fitted, I was always under the inpressuon you don't pay the final payment until the job is completed,
