“Delicious cockerel. 4.1kgs fed 8 of us with plenty left over for sandwiches. Juicy and tender. 1st delivery was left in the wrong place and went missing, but Herb Fed got another out to me the next day (just before Christmas). Fantastic customer service and great product. All in all perfect.”

“This is the first rooster we have tried and were very pleased with the result. We chose this rather than a turkey as it was smaller, to cater for fewer at Xmas lunch and because it sounded a tasty alternative. It arrived well packed with a cold pack and instructions on suggested cooking method. We filled the neck end with a forcemeat stuffing and sewed the flap of skin to hold it in. I think our oven is reading lower than the set temperature so it took 15 minutes longer than calculated time. After resting it carved beautifully; the leg meat was very tender and firm, the breast cut easily into thin slices too. All of our diners said what excellent meat, with a gentle flavour. Unlike our turkeys in previous years, the was very little waste and the carcass provided a couple if litres of nice stock. We will most certainly order a rooster again.”

“Probably the best tasting turkey I've ever had ,however I was a little disappointed with the preparation of the bird that is to say there was a lot of feathers left in it that had to be plucked with tweezers.”

“Superb question quality meat, well packaged and delivered when promised. The 2-3 kg turkey crown cooked slightly quicker than the instructions estimated and provided generous flavoursome portions for 15 main meals and a very chunky soup for 4. Excellent value.”

“Having often had Capon at Family Christmas many years ago, we tried a Herb Fed Rooster last year. We enjoyed it so much we ordered one for this Christmas. Delivery was again well advised and made at the time indicated. Packaging was good and the Rooster nicely chilled. I followed cooking advice, and it was spot on with meat being nice and moist.We enjoyed our Christmas meal, and had leftovers for cold snacking + some for freezer and meals later. Highly recommend getting a Rooster as an alternative to Turkey.”

“Our turkey arrived securely packed and reassuringly cold. We particularly appreciated the bag of herbs that came with it, which we used for stuffing. The quality of the meat was excellent.”
