“Easy to order, packaged really well, delivery absolutely spot on and most importantly, the bird was delicious. This is the third year we have been to Herb Fed Poultry for our Christmas bird (we have a capon), and we will definitely use them again next year. Thank you guys!”

“Due to an unexpected invitation for Christmas and Boxing Day our rooster is now in the freezer so we cannot make any comment on its quality. It arrived right at the beginning of the hour window we were given and it looks amazing and fresh so top marks for packaging and delivery.”

“Lovely tasting chicken, delivered when they said it would be. Only a slight complaint in that the 21st is maybe slightly early for Christmas Day, but meat was fine.”

“Only good things to say, well packed, on time via courier. A lovely capon that we cooked as per instruction and didn’t disappoint at all. Moist , extremely tasty and plentiful. Would use again for sure. So keen to get onto the eating we forgot to take photos .🙄”

“Arrived beautifully packed and fresh. Cooked exactly as instructions and was succulent a joy to behold. It had a delicious flavour and carved like a dream. I would recommend it to have in the future. It lost none of it’s flavour when eaten cold. An added bonus was the giblets making a wonderful gravy.”

“I appreciated that you kept me informed after I made the order and the bird arrived promptly, it was the size stipulated and it was kept cold. It was a nice tasting bird when cooked. However, the bird was badly plucked which spoilt it for me, it took a considerable time to pluck it and I didn’t get them all out, so none of the skin was eaten, which is usually a favourite part in our family! If it was just a few I wouldn’t have mentioned it but it was definitely the worst plucked bird I’ve ever had. I’m sorry because I would really have liked to have written an excellent review!review.”

Dear Laura, We are sorry to read that you were disappointed with the preparation of your rooster and thank you for your feedback. As you may have read, our Roosters are game hung and dry plucked by hand and hence some quills may have been missed and they will appear different to other quality birds you may have seen in the supermarket. We are very pleased it arrived in good time and tasted wonderful however and do appreciate your feedback.

“The rooster was delivered on the promised date and came well packaged in ice and insulation. The bird was cooked to the suggested time, temperature and rested according to the advice leaflet. We were absolutely delighted with the outcome as it was tender, juicy and full of flavour. We shall certainly be ordering one next year.”
