“Beautiful looking handles but they scratch and mark easily, I noticed marks after touching it with my bare hands (no rings). I’m not sure they’d last very well in a kitchen environment. The metal feels really soft because it’s an alloy- it’s zamak, a mixture of metals which is coated to look like brass, it’s much cheaper to produce than brass but no where near as hard wearing. It’s important to note that H&H do sell solid brass handles- but these are at a significant extra cost. It is possible to get solid brass beautiful hardware from other suppliers like Heritage Brass, for much cheaper than the Zamak handles at H&H. All in all these are beautiful handles, but if you want them to last then look for solid brass.”
