“The door knobs are acceptably handsome, but the backing dummy spindles don't locate to the screw holes in the porcelain baseplates or fit into the recess so the assembly stands proud of the woodwork and the porcelain baseplate is a bit loose.”

HI Nicholas, Thank you for your feedback, i have checked and the taylor spindle information provided on the product page does state that they do need to be 'let in' to the door so that the round base is flush with the surface of the door - this way the knob roses will sit flush onto the surface of the door. I trust that you will be able to arrange this so that your knobs will look and feel correct.
