“Bought a variety of dowels as samples for a board game that I'm making. Well packaged, and arrived on Sunday, despite only ordering it late on Friday. Very competitive on price and range. The quality of the wood is great - very straight lengths. I will definitely buy from G&S again.”

“Very fast service and lovely quality wood that I’ve enjoyed carving. My only minus is that my 3 pieces all came separately wrapped in bubble wrap and then in a bubble wrap envelope all together. Just too much plastic for no good reason, if I order again I hope it can be avoided.”

Good morning, Thank you for your review, Our packers do try and wrap the items enough to ensure that they don't arrive damaged to our customers. We are currently looking at different packing products that would significantly reduce the amount of plastic we use for our deliveries. Kind regards G&S

“Excellent quality of timber and accuracy of cutting - very impressive and good value. I will definitely use G&S again for future projects. There was some minor damage to the packaging during transit, where the corrugated card had been ripped, resulting in a slight indent on the edge of one of the pieces. This was a shame when so much care had been taken with the packaging. The indent will not cause a problem when I use the timber. Please see attached jpegs.”

“The firm is about the only supplier of dwelling in hig strength woods also a wide range in colouring. These dowels are superbly finished, ideal for repair of old furniture, or making strong joints and small plugs. Keep going, we need you. Please hold stock of half inch Arbor type wood drills, the size used in old furniture. English measure tools are no longer made in UK a few only offered from US. Suggestion, hold a small stock of them various lengths, to rent out as customers for dwelling may not need them for long. Repair or sharpening is straightforward. The availability of tools helps sale of dwelling you need to make.”

Good morning, Thank you for your review. As discussed in our email conversation yesterday it seems that DPD incorrectly labelled the parcel at the collection point that you requested. We did not receive a response to the last email we sent to you yesterday, the next step for us was to send out a replacement if you can please reply to our email and we will get a replacement arranged for you. “I do not use G & S Specialist timber very frequently because I have a good local supplier of timber for most of my needs but when I have used G&S their goods are of excellent quality and the service most efficient.”
