“I have bought timber from G&S for several times now. The level of product packaging is outstanding and very reasonable shipment charges too.Very straightforward dimensional pricing .. not cubic feet jargon l highly recommend them.”

“Over the years due to having to replace timber fence panels I decided to make my own storm proof ones from 63x38mm timber studding and jointing the timber using 12x75mm dowel joints, each panel is 1800x926mm and is held together by 68 pva glued joints (no screws used). I am about halfway through this project and Falcon work shop supplies who I normally buy this product from are out of stock and no one else has the required size. Fortunately I found G&S who make the 12mm dowel themselves which I have bought in 1 metre lengths (27 lengths gets you carriage paid) Which cost a tad over £51. It arrived in a couple of days and although I have not used it yet it looks good stuff. If you can always support UK manufacturing.”

“I couldn't find what I needed on the Web site, so I rang them and asked what they could do for me. With on a space of an hour the doweling went available in 5 to 10 days to being shipped that day. Fantastic service with great people to talk to.”

“Package arrived on time, was well packed and secure. The courier used was excellent, driver even came to my back garden when I did not answer the front door (no throwing over the fence here). Cannot rate the products bought as they were for a present. Would use again.”

“I have bee a regular customer for a while now, my count of carving chisels is definitely increasing. From day one I have received nothing short of first class service, the care and attention that goes into packaging is second to none with health and safety foremost considering how sharp the blades are. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who has an interest in wood & woodworking or carving. Excellent. Thank you. Although my order was delayed this is not G&S fault it apparently got sent to the incorrect depot for onward delivery journey.”

“Second time that I have ordered these Oak Dowels from G&S Specialist Timber and on both occasions I have been very pleased with the product supplied. Only letdown on this occasion was the courier [FedEx] who didn't carry out the Saturday delivery [as paid for specifically], with delivery being made on the following Tuesday.”

“Rough cut blocks first appearance is - ‘Very Good’ Haven’t had the chance to use these blanks yet but initial impressions are they look very good - next to zero shake in the oak, all saw cuts are quite fine and are from a band saw, not a circular saw. The dimensions on the 50mm width range from just under by a mm under or so to 5mm over, so - very happy that combined with the fine saw cut, I shall get PAR very close to the advertised rough sawn sizes Delivery was well within the times stated and at under £20 for 5 parcels totalling 99kg hand delivered by truck - well cheap I have no hesitation in recommending this company and certainly now have them in my favourites list for my next purchase”
