“Unfortunately I was disappointed with the quality of the products which I bought as a gift. I also found the packaging looked cheap so didn't give them to the person I'd intended to 🙁”

“Ordered Madara factor 30 mineral sunscreen arrived witha n expiry date of 12/25..not sure if thisisindustry standard with mineral sunscreens or just Madara ..offerred refund on return but are you meant to do in meantime,especially if you have a a skin problem/damage and protection is paramount ?”

“I didn't receive my first order and let you guys know, then I was sent a second one and that also hasn't arrived. I don't have any issues with receiving other deliveries so I'm not sure what's happening. I've not had anything sent on email or through the door to say that anyone has tried to deliver the item.”

“I bought a 'sleep bundle' with a discount code from another website that claimed to be worth £36. Fortunately I only paid postage as it was absolutely not worth £36. I would be reluctant to order anything else because of this”

“Ordered through a perkbox promotion. A glass bottle arrived smashed which tarnished most of the giftset. It all smelt very nice but due to the oil was mostly unuseable except a rollerball oil. Please reconsider your packaging if your containers are glass. No big issue though as it was a promo and I only paid postage.”

“I'm not really impressed with the products. The spray bottle doesn't even work, and I can't say that the other products did, especially after testing for over a month now. I wouldn't purchase again.”

“I ordered a set from gruum that was part of a promotion fro manother company I order from (SMOL I think). The set cost me just over £12. Unfortunately I didn't like the scent of any of the products in my order. I love essential oils normally but I didn't like the scents in the products from Gruum. For me it was a waste of money. I also didn't like the packaging. The products were cheap looking plastic ugly bottles that looked like a mdecinal bottle from the 1970s. It is possible to have sustainable packaging that isn't ugly. Te diffuser was so overpowering that i had to put it out in the garden to get it out the house. I couldnt' send it back as I had removed the cap and couldnt' find it (my bad). The melting sleep butter had an acrid slightly off scent to me, like spoiled milk. As I say normally I love esssential oils and natural scents like coconut - yet this stuff made me feel queasy. Bit of a learning curve and I won't order scented products online in future without being able to smell it first after this experience.”

If you are referring to our packing peanuts then please know that all our packing materials we use are recyclable, the packing peanuts are made from corn starch, and they are biodegradable so can be recycled along with your compostable waste. “The products are ok, but nothing special. Contain chemicals that are not natural, and are possibly toxic, in addition to natural ingredients. For this reason I would not recommend or buy again. The foot cream does nothing to soothe or heal, and after applying it to my feet with my hands, my hands weirdly get a smell of pickles!? Every single time. Very strange, and not very pleasant! Also, the tub was only half full when it arrived.”

“Unfortunately i found that the soaps do not lather properly in the shower, using them as directed. They do smell lovely and are a good size, but because you have to use so much of them they run out really quickly. I really wanted to love them as i support the ethos of the company wholeheartedly! The packaging is also great, love the avoidance of plastic. The main thing that's stopped me from being able to rate them any higher though, and this may just be a 'me' problem, is they gave both me and my partner severe irritation and discomfort in 'sensitive areas'. Will be finishing them off as hand soaps.”

“It's a nice product, but the candle arrived with a crack in the glass. It was also 2 months late to my address in Spain, and I missed the opportunity to give it as a Christmas gift. I ordered it on 29 October, and it seemed that Gruum had forgotten to post it. When I followed up after one month, they asked for address confirmation and finally sent it. However, by the time it was attempted to be delivered, I was travelling for Christmas and could not take the delivery. Be careful if ordering from Gruum in the EU - expect to wait a little longer than advertised for the product.”

Hi there, Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, most SPF products will contain some chemical ingredients in order to provide the best protection. Our SPF is made from a combination of both minerals and chemicals. Where possible, we try to include as many naturally derived ingredients as possible to cut out those unnecessary chemical nasties. Octocrylene offers UVB protection and to some extent protection in the UVA ll range. Stabilizes other filters and improves water resistance. We only use very safe amounts of the ingredient. The concentration is always below 5 % in our formulations for sensory reasons. It is allowed up to 14,6 % (10 % of the acids equivalent). According to SCCS (the European Cosmetics Safety Organisation), it is safe and highly studied (toxicologically) and should not be denigrated by rumours. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) evaluated the safety of octocrylene for use in sunscreen products and found that concentrations of up to 10% are safe. The European Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) also stated that octocrylene is safe in products containing concentrations of no more than 10%. We adhere to the European/UK guidelines as that is where we register our products. We take their points on board and will look to see if there is something we can do in the future to reduce/remove it. Tris-biphenyl triazine is one of the most innovative UV filters that has been developed in recent years that provides exceptionally high UV protection. With extensive research and study the unique filter technology Tris-Biphenyl provides has pushed the boundaries of skin protection across the whole UV spectrum, such as UVB and UVA. Its ability to deflect UV rays outperforms other traditional sunscreen ingredients by helping to protect the skin with chemical and physical filters which is another reason why you will find this ingredient in other formulas apart from SPF. As the years continue you can expect to see ageing-preventing products include this talented sunscreen in their mixtures helping to prevent fine lines from becoming more deep set giving the skin a smoother, even complexion. “Introductory offer so just paid the postage. Products were nice but I’d never pay the full price for these simply due to the size! £24 for 4 tiny soaps is ridiculous. It may not be but it seemed like abit of a scam. Saying I was getting something worth £24 for £4 was obviously a reason to give this a try but I wouldn’t pay much more than the £4 anyway.”
