Established in 1980 by Glenn Morris, and as one of the pioneering companies helping to establish the Arboricultural Association approved contractor scheme, we’ve grown into the largest tree contracting company in Kent securing an impressive array of clients in both the domestic and commercial sectors.

The successful merger with Greencut Horticulture in 2016 resulted in the creation of a large company that not only has the infrastructure to deal with any size job, but the modern back office systems that allow us to focus on a customer-centric model.

“100% recommended. The team have removed a condemned, mature ash tree from the back of my neighbour's garden that was looming right over my house and garden. The job was part done by another tree surgeon and then abandoned as 'too dangerous' part way through, after a lot of damage had been done to my garden. DOWN TO EARTH took over the job and completed it with no fuss and no further damage. The team was professional, polite and friendly - and they worked so hard. They cleared up afterwards, and even filled in some of the divots in my lawn left by the first guys.”

“Our large alder tree in the front garden needs cutting back every 5/6 years or so. Once again we used the company for a number of reasons. 1. they took care of obtaining the required planning permission (TPO) 2. the price is competitive 3. the treatment leaves the tree in a really good shape, no easy matter 4. the working team is first rate, punctual, polite, friendly and tidy We also had a little more work to be undertaken in the back garden which was completed to our entire satisfaction. “We have used Down to Earth Trees for many years. On this occasion the work needed to be carried out on two visits, because a large apple tree had not dropped its leaves by the scheduled visit Christmas week, although the other trees were ready for pruning, and this work was done most satisfactorily. The apple was pruned last week in the wettest conditions for over 20 years. As usual, everything was done properly and the site was left in immaculate condition. I have met the team of the day on other occasions, and, despite being soaked, they carried out the work conscientiously and in good humour. Needless to say, we shall be inviting them again.”

“Punctual, tidy, very accommodating to allow me to take a stack of the eucalyptus rather than it being mulched. Even applied for the permission from the local council for the trees to be removed. Would recommend Down to Earth for their service.”

“I had a quote from Down To Earth Trees to carry out some tree cutting and trimming. I was happy with the quote and the work has just been completed. “Your operatives arrived on time and were patient and polite when I said they'd come a day too early. I checked my dates only to find that I was wrong. The guys proceeded to carry out the work with sensitivity and in keeping with the landscape of our garden. Following the work the team carried out a thorough clean-up. Information my wife requested (she had planned the works) was imparted with politeness and without grudge by the team leader.. My wife also requested a slight variation to some of the work and this was done to her satisfaction and resulted in a reduction to our invoice. Great work carried out by a group of professional guys lead by a great team leader who, I suspect, sets the example. Our gratitude and thanks to all office staff, reps. and field staff at Down To Earth. David Shah”
