“At first I thought the service looks great, however having used it twice and being disappointed , I can say I wont use the site again! Reason - your Grafters say they can paint and decorate and yes anyone can but the quality is important. Again for any other use plastering, carpentry etc, you don't qualify your people! OK, not everyone needs qualifications, but the referencing needs to be specific even examples of the past work done, photo's etc. Using your people has ended up costing me more money to put things right! I am sure you wont print this review but you should at least make an effort to make changes!”

Hi Raj, thanks for your feedback. With Grafter, we don't validate people's skills because we only charge a small fee which would not cover the costs of going on-site to view people's work. However, we do provide a review system so clients can write reviews to help each other understand workers capabilities. You can also view their past work and chat to them online (and ask for references, experience etc) before you hire. Regards Grafter

“Always a good service. No problems. Customer support was excellent in lifting my temporary suspension for a misunderstanding of the communication policy (I told employer where I was staying and the algorithm flagged it up). All round great site to find work.”

“this truly dreadful company needs to change its name from ‘grafters’ to ‘drifters’. i hired three labourers and they all failed to show up. when i requested my fee back, the admin person told me i had been supplied with these losers’ contact details and therefore there had been ‘supply of goods and services’. well no, because how are the contact details of lazy, disrespectful losers worth acquiring??? you’re talking to a brick wall and the bricks are made of dust.”

Hi Julian, For only £20 we provided you with the contact details of 3 people so that you would have a choice to fill your job. Unusually none of these people worked out, so we provided a fourth contact for free, who you hired and completed your job. So we were surprised to read such a negative review after we had helped to resolve the situation with you.

“The client’s don’t get back to you”

Hi Mark, I see one client didn't get back to you but that's probably because he messaged you on the 15th and you didn't reply until the 28th. So by that time he had already found someone. Generally, the clients are good at responding, this is not a problem anyone else has notified us about before.

“A great idea in the industry ! I wish I’d thought of it myself ! Good efficient service and the range of applicants in each discipline are varied but as long as the employers asks the correct questions of the Grafter / applicant, he will soon get to feel if the applicant is for him or not.”

“Mail says "You have recently used Grafter to find people for a job", incorrect as I have used it to find work so I will review from that angle. It seems useful for linking people looking for casual work with others who need some skilled or unskilled work done. It took a while for me to be selected for work, but I've now had 3 jobs in the last month. Work details and rate are agreed beforehand via chat and payment is through Grafter which works quite nicely. The only glitch I've had is that after reaching the level for benefits in July I wasn't put forward to Collective to enable registration. This is ongoing, but both Collective and Grafter have been quick to respond and I expect a resolution fairly soon. Overall I would recommend it to others looking for flexible casual work.”

“How can someone who offered me a job, but didn’t go through with it then be able to write a condemning review about me and I am not able to counter write a review about him. That just put me off in using the platform, moreover those who post jobs hardly ever reply or go through with it and still leave the ad on there and people still be applying for it.”

Hi Anthony, I am sorry the people you chose didn't work out. The vetting of the applicants is done with past work reviews. I notice that one of the people you hired had bad reviews and the other none. Please leave a review for both of them to feedback to other clients about your experience with them.

“First time using this platform after using MyBuilder & rated people type sites for years. This is very much focused on individual skills rather than being oriented towards full job completion. So for trades needing additional skilled labour would be the most common use I would say, but I’m a DIYer and found Grater gave me access to a whole host of skills very quickly. Super simple to post. Got loads of interest and the financial exchange was also ok”
