“Absolutely ridiculous. Do the work and get paid by the employer before the cut off of 16:30 which is the last payment run in their terms to make sure the money is paid the same day. Money doesn’t arrive and then they tell you that you have to plan to be paid by 15:30 to make sure the payment is made. No mention of this on their website and the employer is just as mad as me. They won’t be using Grafter again. Note: if you want to be paid on time and in line with Grafters own terms then go to someone else. If you can wait until Grafter and their payment processing firm to get the money to you by the following week give them a go. If you want clear payment terms and a company that stands by them rather than making up adhoc advice on the fly, go to someone else.”

Hi Sean, we have been able to discuss this already. Unfortunately there was confusion over whether the cut of time was 3.30 or 4.30 and your payment missed the days payment run. We have already changed the help page to make it more clear about cut-off timings.

“I wanted two people the next day for half a day. I had 12 people apply in half an hour. I choose the first two people that applied. They turned up on time. They immediately got stuck into the job with little input from me and the job was finished in next to no time. Really recommend this site.”

“Pretty good. Quite straight forward. Applied, offered, accepted....did the work and got paid promptly at the end of the week. With all that in mind, I’m guessing people are wondering why only 3 stars?.......the reason is Grafter are not by any means fluid enough. They only release messages notifying you that a job has been posted in bulk over a set number of times a day. This means that if someone logs in more often than you over the course of the day they may get the job before you as a message to notify of the job has not been sent for a couple of hours after the job has been posted. This is frustrating in my opinion for both the ‘Grafter’ but also from the employers point of view. Imagine hiring someone to do a job and then you find out a much better candidate has surfaced further down the line? In this day and age this is old fashioned at best and just plain rubbish as worst.”

Hi Sean That's really good feedback thanks. We used to send alerts immediately but people complained they were getting spammed. Especially in the big cities where we have lots of jobs per day. However, it sounds like we are not doing enough now, so we will revisit that and see if we can do something more intelligent... Tom

“Ben came quite a long way to work, which was great as no one locally had applied. He has worked at a pretty grim job for nearly a week now and has just got the job done. Was able to use Kango's angle grinders safely and came along with some kit just in case. Ben did a good job. Thanks”
