“A sense of let-down. Went all the way through and then found couldn’t be insured given my proximity to flood areas. And that you had to phone the company and go all through the same info you’d just entered on the computer. No info about the special offer if you bought via GC. Certainly not the easy procedure the GC adverts promise.”

“Probably not your fault but when I clicked buy online from Hastings Direct there was no response , I tried multiple times including the phone option which I was on hold only to find no one on the end the the last tim a message told me to go and get requote and it would then work which i did and got a higher quote for exactly the same input , NOT HAPPY with HASTINGS DIRECT >”

“Hate how much the quote changes, even if you only alter the start date by a couple of days. The uplift is frankly unjustifiable. So you have an apparently 'valid quote' sitting in your emails but because you change the start date from yesterday to today, you'll have to pay an extra £150!!! Unbelievable 😤”

“I filled in all the details for gocompare, but they were incorrectly passed on to the individual insurance companies, so when I looked in detail at the quotes my personal information had been incorrectly recorded- had I taken the policy out without checking, then it’s possible any claims may invalidated. I then went on another comparison website and it was much better plus it gave me a much cheaper quote.”

“The green tick ins to seduce us for a certain policy are fibs, actually outright lies ''' just had it done to me on a policy purchase AGAIN grrrr example and true Courtesy car is included ...then all the speeeel on buying policy its Firkin not included absolute dangly doolies GRRRRRRR”

“The insurance prices where absolutely horrendous. Will not be going anywhere near this site again. Anywhere else I could get for 400/500 max, here it's as little as 680. Don't think so.”

“Go Compare came up with a number of reasonable offers quite quickly, but on being transferred to the insurers' actual websites, the terms of the offers did not match. The cheapest offer of £73 for classic car insurance rose to £258 once transferred and in others the level of cover decreased and excesses rose. The lack of accuracy provided by Go Compare left them pretty useless. Compare the Market fared much better with their listed details matching the actual insurers' details much more accurately.”

“I have tried 42 times to complete my registration, the same number of times to claim my rewards. The site just keeps sending me round and round. I can't access my documents to print off as I can't enter my account. For this reason I can't rate your company. K. Gratton”

“I was charged for cancelling a car assurance arranged with Hasting direct- on the same day on your site. Where as it was clearly stipulated that I could cancel any arrangement free of charge whithin 14 days. The change of mind happened 3hours after booking. Shocking.”

“The search results gave me choices and a lower premium than I was paying last year. But I was surprised as to the number of insurers not prepared to quote at all despite the fact that we are in the lowest risk category for all drivers. So I called one of those well-known insurers not prepared to quote and got a quote direct which was £100 lower than Go Compare's lowest option.”

“I selected all the extras I wanted and was presented with a number of quotes with the appropriate boxes ticked. However, when I selected my preferred quote and proceeded to the insurer's site I then found that most of the extras I had requested were not included and the price ratcheted up as I added them. I then went back and viewed other companies which I had never heard of, only to find that there were no ratings for them. I found it easier to do my own search.”
