I contracted GA to replace a failed ring in my ceramic hob. I agreed to ake out an insurance policy with the call-out fee. The engineer arrived after a long delay examined the hob and then ordered a replacement for which i was charged £250 Later refunded) an excessive price given that a new hob can be bought for much less than that! After a long further delay a second engineer arrived to do the job, but noticed a small crack in the surface and claimed that it was beyound repair, and needed to be replaced . The company then sent me a list of far more expensive Induction hobs as possible replacements, but failed to tell me that they operated on a different system and that I would have to replace all of my cookware to use it. The excellent engineer who installed it and pointed this our to me, also told me that the previous hob was fully repairable, and suggested that I should contact you and ask you to replace the hob with a ceramic hob, saving me a great deal of money. I contaced your agent who categorically refused to accept any responsibility for the misleading information sent to me and claimed that it was entirely my resosibility to make sure that I acquired the right product, rather than your obligation to give me all the factors i should take into account in making it. I can only say that I am 86 and this is the worst experience with a supplier that I can remember.

Agreed and paid £129 for an engineer to hopefully resolve a fault with a fridge/freezer, which was showing an error code of EF. The engineer arrived on 2nd May in a car. He stayed 10 minutes, the time taken to inform me that all was required was a defrost. He did not even look at the appliance. We have defrosted twice and the problem remains. During May I telephoned Go Assist several times who promised that they would arrange a second visit and would get back to me. To date (20th June) we have heard nothing. This company and its personnel do not carry out the work they are engaged to complete.There is something very wrong here. I am now contacting the local trading standards office and will take this much further.

APPALLING COMPANY, APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICES. Order number: LBR126647 County Court case: 406MC294 1) 24th April booked and paid for a repair to my extraction hood 2) Two days later, engineer arrived and told me a new motor fan needed. Was informed that the part will be ordered and someone would come to fit it 3) Heard nothing for 1 week 4) Telephoned customer services and was told part could not be sourced and that the case was closed. My refund request was rejected. 5) I found the part easily online from Interspares and ordered it 6) Telephoned GoAssist customer services, explained I had found the part and requested someone to come and fit it. Was told that GoAssist can only use their own sourced parts 7) Complained to GoAssist complaints' department 8) Received a call from Go Assist saying they would fit the part if it was the correct one. They asked for photo and details of the part which I sent 9) Received email saying they would fit the part IF THE HOOD WAS REMOVED FROM THE WALL 10) I sent email asking what was meant by 'removed from the wall?' NO REPLY 11) Telephoned GoAssist and was told the extraction fan must first be removed from the wall before they would send an engineer to fit the new fan. I told them this was a ridiculous request. 12) Requested refund and informed them I would employ another company to fit the fan and that I would issue court proceedings against GoAssist if they did not refund me. I gave a deadline. 13) No reply by the deadline. Another company came and fitted the motor. Job done in about twenty minutes. No need to first move the hood away from the wall. The motor was easily accessible with the hood in-situ 14) County court proceedings initiated against GoAssist. 15) Court gave GoAssist until June 5th to reply 16) Received email from GoAssist saying the initial fee of £129 was a call out fee and not refundable if a repair was attempted 17) GoAssist replied to court and agreed to pay back all money including court fee 18) Have received full refund plus expenses Yes, GoAssist enentually refunded me, but only after I took legal action against them. VERY BAD SERVICE. I recommend no-one use this company. Terrible customer relations.

I paid 170 for an emergency callout, for an engineer to come for less than 5 minutes and tell me he needs a "permanent ladder" to the loft, even though combination ladder was in place (there is a floor and light in the loft as well). You would think Go assist would give me my money back, because THEY didn't ask if there is a permanent ladder in place and because NOTHING was done or fixed. Nope, they absolutely refuse to pay me back, said the engineer charged them money and there's nothing they can do. Avoid at all cost. Terrible service. I am stuck with a broken boiler and they STOLE my money.

Absolute waste of time! The first engineer they sent out visited the property for five minutes then just left saying he couldn't fix it, costing me £169.99. The second one didn't even turn up, saying he couldn't come out after 6pm, despite my telling Go Assist the tenants were only available after that time. When I called to request a refund I overheard the operator call me a f***ing c**t as she was transferring me to "customer services!" Avoid like the plague, this company will NOT fix your problem, while charging you extortionate fees in the process.

GoAssist contractor lied to say 20min walk to parking when 5/7mins max so didn't show up but took my money = theft Just don't take the booking in the first place if can't attend.

Please don’t use them. Led me to believe that they were quoting me for a repair. It seemed like a good price so I payed. Three weeks later I get a phone call saying that they can’t do the repair but refused to return my money. Seems like very dishonest practice. I will certainly never use them again. I hope this helps some other poor soul not to have their money taken. Doing this to warn others. ADRIAN BASSETT

Go Assist sent me an engineer who was unable to repair my device. I have canceled the subscription and received a refund. But! despite of that Go Assist continued to charge me an annual subscription. I'm trying to get a refund for an unfair charge - I received NO. This Company charges your account for no reason!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Worst customer service ever! Expensive for what they provide... also, there is no complaints procedure when things go wrong, and mainly because Go Assist is not a regulated company (yet they are authorised to sell regulated products). Ensure you're aware that despite charging for insurance, you will be liable to pay an extortionate excess, for parts (non-refundable once ordered), and quite often for labour over a certain allowable time. ALL BAD NEWS, meaning any complaint can not be escalated further, e.g., to the Financial Ombudsman. They are very unresponsive. I have spent over a full days work over the space of 2 months trying to get some resolve - and there is no recourse for remediation because they 'mark their own homework', as they have no independent complaints department. They try to blind you with science that less savvy consumers will have to swallow. I persisted, thankfully. STEER CLEAR.

DO NOT fall for it. I paid £140 one time fee and was led to believe that my hob would be fixed. Someone came , stayed 2 mins and sent me a quote of £250 to fix. I was made to believe the £140 would cover work and labour. In fact, the £140 is basically a call out fee. The amount needed is wasted as I can buy a new cooker for that. I feel conned. Stay away!

Terrible off hand Cockley service I wast sent an electrian who said plug was good just by looking at it and quoted £2,200.00 to replace heater I had anothe engineer in to look at my economy 7 heater. It was taken apart elements tested nothing wrong but when testing the plug there was a natural but no live. Changed plug heater worked.Took 6 phone calls and had to send an invoice showing the work carried out. Then had to telephone again before getting money back.They diagnosed wrongly as didn't test the plug and then tried charging me for a new heating!!! Diabolical. Do not use this service they contract out so you have two company's involved !!!

A simple task such as changing the light switch will cost you over 250gbp (unclear billing) and 3-4 hours of proactive calls/waiting time between several companies. It is just a call center for subcontractors. Avoid at all cost!

I started putting my details in for a quote, then come across these bad reviews so I did not proceed with getting a quote. Now getting calls twice a day and emails, they won't leave me alone. I try blocking their number, but they then start using another. Very unprofessional. I decided to replace my appliance and I have told them that, but the calls keep coming.

Read all the other reviews - I wish I had. Terrible unethical company who will rip you off and not fix your applicance. They have basically stolen £150 of our money.

Did not join taking money out of my card would not recommend them in any way read the reviews when you phone will not answer play music, say your next you wait and wait never answer just horrible music these people are fraudulent do not us ever for anything

DO NOT book a repair through this company. They provide a poor service and are poor communicators. My tenant let me know that the fridge freezer wasn't holding its temperature, so I booked a repair with Go Assist. I reiterated to the call handler that the property was rented and that the tenant was only available at certain times as they could not take time off work. I was told that would not be a problem and that the message would be passed onto the local repairman. The repair was booked in for a week after the call was made, a long time without a fridge freezer but it was the best I could do for my tenant. No specific time was given and I received no further communication from GO Assist. Come the day of the repair I received a phone call from the engineer saying he was on the way. I explained that my tenant was at work and asked if the appointment could be re-arranged. They said I would have to go through Go Assist to do so. So I rang Go Assist to try and rearrange the appointment and re-iterated that my tenant is only available when not working. The call handler at Go Assist said that they would try and re-arrange with the engineer and get back to me. I had heard nothing for two weeks so rang them back today, to be told that as the original call out was a “missed appointment” I would have to make a new booking and would not be re-imbursed for the original call out. When I explained that I had originally requested the call out for a certain time, I was simply told that this wasn’t “in the notes”. I then asked if I could book a specific time slot when my tenant was free but was told that this was not possible. So don’t waste your time or money on this company, book with someone else.

Paid the fee of £99 and was signed up to there warranty policy being £7.95 a month. Engineer made an appointment to diagnosis the problem which required parts. I subsequently paid for the new thermostat at a cost of 83.99. I had arranged for an engineer to install the new part. Subsequently the same problem is happening with my fridge. A phone call to go assist to notify them that the repair as not cured the fault. A visit from the same engineer said that the replacement thermostat was faulty and required replacing. This part wasordered an a visit was made to install the part. The original fault is still there being my fridge is icing up and the compressor is on continuously. I have stopped this company from taking monies from my debit card. They report that they can repairmy fridge. I have paid more monies to go assist than the cost of a new fridge. I am completely dissatisfied with there service and i require them to refund all monies otherwise i will take legal action against them.

Avoid this company. I have been waiting for 8 weeks for a part to be delivered. After numerous calls and complaints I am just told that there is no ETA for this part. They can not tell me anything else. Diabolical service, the company is more interested in getting people to sign up for their repair insurance policy. Would not recommend this company at all
