£89 taken up front and tied in to an insurance policy also paid for to have a blaspheming engineer come and tell me what I already knew was wrong with my oven having helped him “lift” it out of the housing. He did not have the element needed although he did try and see if another would fit! I managed to cancel the insurance but will be clobbered by Go Assist for the full call out charge having negotiated unsuccessfully not to be charged.

We organised a washer dryer repair with GoAssist in November 2023. We paid a £129 for a callout, where the repair man spent 15mins at the property to determine the heating element was faulty. In order to have the heating element replaced, we were told we needed to pay an additional £131.10 for the spare part and a second visit. We agreed to this fee under the caveat the repair needed to be carried out in the morning on a certain day. GoAssist agreed, and scheduled the second visit. On the day of the second visit, I made sure to contact the repair man (as we were given his number for the first visit) to ensure he was able to make it for the morning. He said he was due to arrive at 11:30 after another job in Yate, so it was close, but doable. However, I received a call at 11:31 where the repair man explained he was running late as his previous job fixing a fridge freezer had overrun. Therefore, he would not be able to arrive in the morning, as he had still not left the site in Yate. So, he prompted me to call the office and reschedule. The GoAssist office agreed to reschedule for the following Friday (or so I was told). We received no confirmation from GoAssist for the rescheduling, so I called to confirm. At this point, they told us we needed to pay another £99 as we 'canceled the repair same-day'. We have called regularly to dispute this but they will not budge and keep repeating the same things over an over. 'This will be investigated', 'we will call you back', or 'we've been advised you need to pay another £99 callout fee'. The dispute is still ongoing, despite the fact the repairman and my new (paid for) heating element never even coming within 10miles of my property. It is important to note, GoAssist are a middleman company, and only subcontract repair work to local companies with an additional mark up. I chose them as they appeared local to my address in Bristol, but I assume it is a virtual office or order to boost sales in the area. Do not use GoAssist. Use a local contractor instead.

I have had the absolute worst experience with this Go Assist. First, they promised a repair within 48 hours and then it took them 1 week to send someone out. The repair person said he couldn’t find parking on the date so drove away and then charged for entire visit with no plan to re attend. There was parking around the corner. Just not on my street. The customer service was also horrendous. I will specially name Jake as being obstructive and unhelpful. No help or solutions were provided. To be charged the full amount for NO ONE to attend my property and significant delays is beyond outrageous. I can not advise against using this company enough. It has been the worst experience I have ever had with a company.

Fraudulent Transactions. The Royal Bank of Scotland declined a payment to them as fraudulent. A year previously I'd paid to get a repairman to come and look at my cooker, and in the confirmation email they mentioned free membership of some scheme which I'd never asked for and never used. A year later, they attempted to charge me £49.99 for it. If a high street bank routinely blocks their payments, it's clearly not an isolated problem.

I paid an attendance fee of £89 someone came out and reprogrammed the cooker which worked for a couple of weeks, it was the computer board that controls the cooker, a second call out fee of £120 was paid, and this time they admitted the computer board needed replacing, a charge of £489 was paid, it was a faulty part and you cannot even reprogram the cooker, I have had to buy a new one, and reading these posts will start County Court proceedings, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I booked a repair through Go Assist for my Neff fitted cooker, I paid upfront the sum of £89.00. Their technician did absolutely nothing to the cooker and told me he would go away order the relevant parts and return within approximately 5 days to carry out the repair. I phoned Go Assist because I had not been contacted regarding this repair and was then told that the technician had said my cooker was unrepairable. He spent no more than 10 minutes at my home photographing my cooker and nothing else. This is a complete Rip Off I now have no working cooker and £89 less in my bank account.

I paid £129 on the 13th of September to have my dishwasher repaired. The engineer came out on the 14th September and replaced a jubilee clip. I tried the dishwasher later that day and water flooded out- the original fault. I rang Go Assist back and they said the engineer would come back out on Monday 18th September. However on Friday 15th September asking for another £56 for the jubilee clip . I refused as the repair hadn't worked and the engineer hadn't done his job properly. Today Monday 18th the engineer hasn't turned up so I paid £129 for nothing. They have ripped me off for the repair and the part ( which you can buy for under £10,). Please avoid at all costs.

Wish I checked these reviews before using Go Assist, they take your money up front and don't do the work or even give you a date of when it can be expected to be done. I've been constantly chasing for three months just for a date and been given excuse after excuse and they still can't give me a date.

Absolutely terrible service-avoid any contact with them Really disappointed. Engineer came out for 5 minutes and couldn't repair. But I still had to pay the full £89 and £50 cancellation fee. There isn't a 30 day cool off for the Big Warranties insurance policy that Go Assist provide in partnership. I was happy to pay a partial fee but there was absolutely no flexibility from either company.. If I could give 0 stars I would and would strongly advise don't use this service

Avoid anything to do with this Company and it’s sister BIG WARRANTIES. From my research on these 2 companies I understand that they are part of a string of companies owned by the same people. Their business model is based on extracting as much money from you as possible and giving you nothing in return. They are middlemen who employ independent engineers, on whom, it seems they have very little control. I have so far paid them £449.60 for them to repair my dishwasher. This sum includes an insurance premium to protect my appliance from breakdown. An appliance which Go Assist failed to repair in the past 7 weeks, for which they received full payment (parts & labour) in advance. However, Big Warranties kept insisting that I keep on paying the premiums to protect the appliance which is broken down in the first place. When I accepted their quote seven weeks ago they informed me that parts may take as long as 6 weeks to arrive. When the 6 weeks were up I contacted them to ask for a full refund. They refused. They said that once parts are ordered they cannot be cancelled. Even if they cannot be delivered? Do yourself a favour. If your old appliance breaks down, go and buy a new one. It my cost a little more than repairing the old one, you will get a brand new appliance within days with a 2 or 3 year warranty. Above all you save yourself the hassle of dealing with cowboy repairers. If you have been stung by this Company and it’s offshoots, go back to your credit/debit card provider and dispute the transactions and claim your money back. Most card providers give you a guarantee for you to shop in piece against defective goods/services.

I contracted GA to replace a failed ring in my ceramic hob. I agreed to ake out an insurance policy with the call-out fee. The engineer arrived after a long delay examined the hob and then ordered a replacement for which i was charged £250 Later refunded) an excessive price given that a new hob can be bought for much less than that! After a long further delay a second engineer arrived to do the job, but noticed a small crack in the surface and claimed that it was beyound repair, and needed to be replaced . The company then sent me a list of far more expensive Induction hobs as possible replacements, but failed to tell me that they operated on a different system and that I would have to replace all of my cookware to use it. The excellent engineer who installed it and pointed this our to me, also told me that the previous hob was fully repairable, and suggested that I should contact you and ask you to replace the hob with a ceramic hob, saving me a great deal of money. I contaced your agent who categorically refused to accept any responsibility for the misleading information sent to me and claimed that it was entirely my resosibility to make sure that I acquired the right product, rather than your obligation to give me all the factors i should take into account in making it. I can only say that I am 86 and this is the worst experience with a supplier that I can remember.

Agreed and paid £129 for an engineer to hopefully resolve a fault with a fridge/freezer, which was showing an error code of EF. The engineer arrived on 2nd May in a car. He stayed 10 minutes, the time taken to inform me that all was required was a defrost. He did not even look at the appliance. We have defrosted twice and the problem remains. During May I telephoned Go Assist several times who promised that they would arrange a second visit and would get back to me. To date (20th June) we have heard nothing. This company and its personnel do not carry out the work they are engaged to complete. There is something very wrong here. I am now contacting the local trading standards office and will take this much further.

APPALLING COMPANY, APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICES. Order number: LBR126647 County Court case: 406MC294 1) 24th April booked and paid for a repair to my extraction hood 2) Two days later, engineer arrived and told me a new motor fan needed. Was informed that the part will be ordered and someone would come to fit it 3) Heard nothing for 1 week 4) Telephoned customer services and was told part could not be sourced and that the case was closed. My refund request was rejected. 5) I found the part easily online from Interspares and ordered it 6) Telephoned GoAssist customer services, explained I had found the part and requested someone to come and fit it. Was told that GoAssist can only use their own sourced parts 7) Complained to GoAssist complaints' department 8) Received a call from Go Assist saying they would fit the part if it was the correct one. They asked for photo and details of the part which I sent 9) Received email saying they would fit the part IF THE HOOD WAS REMOVED FROM THE WALL 10) I sent email asking what was meant by 'removed from the wall?' NO REPLY 11) Telephoned GoAssist and was told the extraction fan must first be removed from the wall before they would send an engineer to fit the new fan. I told them this was a ridiculous request. 12) Requested refund and informed them I would employ another company to fit the fan and that I would issue court proceedings against GoAssist if they did not refund me. I gave a deadline. 13) No reply by the deadline. Another company came and fitted the motor. Job done in about twenty minutes. No need to first move the hood away from the wall. The motor was easily accessible with the hood in-situ 14) County court proceedings initiated against GoAssist. 15) Court gave GoAssist until June 5th to reply 16) Received email from GoAssist saying the initial fee of £129 was a call out fee and not refundable if a repair was attempted 17) GoAssist replied to court and agreed to pay back all money including court fee 18) Have received full refund plus expenses Yes, GoAssist enentually refunded me, but only after I took legal action against them. VERY BAD SERVICE. I recommend no-one use this company. Terrible customer relations.

I paid 170 for an emergency callout, for an engineer to come for less than 5 minutes and tell me he needs a "permanent ladder" to the loft, even though combination ladder was in place (there is a floor and light in the loft as well). You would think Go assist would give me my money back, because THEY didn't ask if there is a permanent ladder in place and because NOTHING was done or fixed. Nope, they absolutely refuse to pay me back, said the engineer charged them money and there's nothing they can do. Avoid at all cost. Terrible service. I am stuck with a broken boiler and they STOLE my money.

Absolute waste of time! The first engineer they sent out visited the property for five minutes then just left saying he couldn't fix it, costing me £169.99. The second one didn't even turn up, saying he couldn't come out after 6pm, despite my telling Go Assist the tenants were only available after that time. When I called to request a refund I overheard the operator call me a f***ing c**t as she was transferring me to "customer services!" Avoid like the plague, this company will NOT fix your problem, while charging you extortionate fees in the process.
