Everything you need to make a decision is laid out clearly and really straightforward. I was impressed as there was only two options to choose from, and all you had to decide is which one you preferred. No messing about as to what car you drive as the person is covered in any car. Joining and paying was also really straightforward too! So far so good!

Bit annoyed to find that once I had signed up there was a special offer on membership that could have saved me £30. I also tried to set up a direct debit but seems my bank will not allow this but never had any problems setting up DD with other companies.

have been with Gem before but then bought a new car which had breakdown cover for three years included - no problems before so have re-joined GEM

I've just joined so I can't rate the service yet! One niggle I have already concerns the printing of 'what to do if you breakdown' info. It doesn't print cleanly in that the front page is overlaid by part of what looks like the last page.

I can only rate the enrollment process which was smooth and untroubled ............until the the very last when some sort of failure window appeared , spouting (to me) gibberish. However the process appears to have concluded satisfactorily for all.

Filled in on line application in my name with my partner as second named person. Documents issued with no mention of my name and my title transposed to my partners name - who also appears as a second person.. If the cant even get this right it makes one wonder what happens out on the road.
