“The joining experience was quick and painless. I received a handy text afterwards to give me the phone number for motor assist. Good introductory price. I cannot yet comment on the breakdown service quality as it hasn't started.”

“I found GEM through the auto express 2017 survey and decided to switch when my policy was due for renewal. It could not have been easier to join - so much easier than any of the other breakdown services that I have joined, and £30pa cheaper than my renewal quote. So far - so excellent.”

“Although GEM were not the cheapest option available to me from Go Compare, after looking at the other sites and what they offered, I believe GEM' deal looked the best so I was happy to pay a bit more.”

“Have just joined so can only give it a middle mark, as I have not had to use the service so far. However, I have installed the GEM phone app and the Traffic Update feature crashes the app everytime you try and use it. It's clear from comments on the app that this has not been working for months now. If you are so keen to assist your members please fix this. The rest of the app appears to work fine. A crashing app is a pain as you have to restart it. If you can't fix the Traffic Update feature, then take it out!”

“I have just left the AA after 25 years of ever increasing membership fees and declining service. I found signing up to Gem very easy and prefer their simpler pricing structure to The AA's. I am looking forward to their award winning service.”

“I have been a member of GEM for many years and have recently returned to the UK from France where my car was covered for breakdown by the manufacturer. I know that the breakdown assist offered by GEM has been voted the top supplier for several years, so I always said that I would use GEM Motoring Assist on my return. Now I have donethis.”

“The signing up process was very straightforward and quick. I paid by PayPal for this year. If I like it I may transfer to a Direct Debit in future. They have a special offer on for Auto Express readers at the moment. This makes Gem almost half the price of my RAC cover.”

“The web site was very easy to navigate and the prices were around the cheapest for the cover required. Have used GEM breakdown in the past which was included in a car insurance policy I had and found them to be no problem when making a claim. This time have taken the full cover option.”
