Online joining process was straight forward and not a lengthy job. Hope the breakdown service is as efficient.

This was best value and most pratical cover for us as a couple who share the use of two motorcycles and two cars between ourselves.

Recently I broke down in Wales in the middle of know where and I was very impressed with the service I received . The call staff also checked that I was ok . I would reccomend your service.

For sixteen years my wife and I (plus son about 10 years ago) had been loyal members of a well known breakdown organisation. Loyalty unfortunately in the last few years has been rewarded with spiraling membership fees. I have jumped ship and with careful research matched the level of service and halved the cost by joining GEM. I even qualified for a discount as an advanced driver/rider with RoSPA. When I contacted the GEM call centre the assistant was not aware of the RoSPA discount and I had to go through GEM head office. They proved very knowledgeable, helpful, and smoothly organised membership and payment. Proof of the pudding is always in the eating but I am confident that if I ever need to use my GEM membership (hopefully not) it will be efficient and effective.

No problems signing up but of course the experience can only be accurately assessed if the cover is put to the test...hopefully never! Aldo of course when re-new album occurs! Just one point though,the one thing which would improve the joining process would be a member's card..such as the AA provide.This would be good to put inside obe's wallet to always be handy.Much better than the typed piece of paper I now have to use. Sometimes these little things cost very small amounts but can contribute greatly to customers' purchasing experience.

good service happy with everything. 10 years since I had to use assistance service but it worked fine. Always renew early as it seems to keep the car running well ! Hope Gem keeps an eye on organisations that want to stop older drivers using our cars.I live 13 miles from a shop and the bus service is almost non existant.

Staff always friendly and very helpful....and they were wonderful with Mumsy - I think working at GEM was the best Job Mum ever had. It is a shame she found GEM so late on in her life. Thank you, she was so fond of you all x

Over the years, our son has had a number of vans (panal vans for social & domestic use only) covered by the family breakdown cover and we have been more than pleased with the breakdown cover provided. However, when his latest van broke down he was not allowed to claim because this van is 2.7 tons and the maximum is 2.5 tons. It never crossed our minds to check limitations on vehicles especially as I have towed caravans for 35 years with quite big 4x4's. Motorhomes, incidently, are covered up to 3.5 tons. Reluctantly, our son will have to find alternative van breakdown cover.
