A friendly organisation that keeps you in touch by an interesting motoring magazine. Haven't used the breakdown facilities so far but have no reason to believe they not on the ball.

Online renewal experience very positive. Quick, easy and a great price too despite having had one callout at home for a flat battery a few months previously. Great company to deal with...highly recommended.

After reading all the feed back in my Which mag from all the people how have selected to have Gem for brake down cover I also came over to Gem, I have had no need to call you out but I never say never and it is always nice to now that you are there. Rob.

I'm a returning customer to GEM as I have found them to be my favourite breakdown service. My old camper van as broken down a number of time now and GEM breakdown have proven to be fast, reliable, affordable service with friendly employees. I've had a number of happily memorable breakdowns where I've forgotten the situation in chatter. I even had a really entertaining chat when renewing my insurace yesterday. Thanks team GEM :-)

I have used GEM motoring for a number of years now and in the need for a call out, the operators at the other end of the telephone have always proved to be very friendly. Likewise the mechanics who have come to my aid have always been friendly and helpful. and ensured that I got home safely. I have membership on a reclaim basis which means I pay the mechanic / garage upfront but have never had a problem in reclaiming my call-out expenses and reimbursement has always very quick. Al in all a very reliable service with a very reasonable cost.

I called for assistance because I felt strong vibrations in the car floor and unusual loud noise. I had to wait a little over an hour as the rescue vehicle had trouble locating me. From then on the service was excellent. The engine was checked, including a diagnostic test: no obvious problem. The noise was found to be caused by holes developing in the 'back box' of the exhaust system which I later had replaced I was able to continue my long journey assured that my car was safe to drive and that the further driving would not cause damage to my vehicle. The very young looking person who attended my problem seemed very skilled and was efficient and courteous. This was my second experience of a call out. A few months earlier my alternator failed. On that occasion an older very experienced person was able to get me back on the road in minuted after a few hammer taps released my jammed alternator. I feel confident driving an older vehicle (16 years and counting) with GEM support. Dr Robert Ash

I've only made use of the recovery team to recharge my car battery. The service was good and arrived more quickly than the estimated time. Also using the other adverts in your magazine I was able to get a different service at a better price than I'd previously found. The videos are good regarding tips for older drivers. I'm happy with your service. I can only give another Very Good for my policy renewal. You took into consideration the relatively few miles I drive each year and quoted me a good price. Well done!

I thought I would go with GEM due the price, I had a breakdown at my daughters school and I have to say the customer service was horrible the man kept repeating everything I said as you can imagine the last thing you want to do is repeat information that they should already have and you trying to get help asap. I got very frustrated with the man as I was late picking up my daughter and they were going to close the school gates. But once the breakdown came the man fixed the car it was a flat battery he changed it there and then, I was satisfied with the service from that point. I will give them another go, but will be keeping an eye on them because value is not everything quality is

Perfect service. Breakdown vehicle arrived within the hour. Very helpful phone operator who arranged recovery for my car. The only small issue was the identification of my car as it is a kitcar and is not recognised on DVLA website. Overall very pleased with the service from GEM and the recovery driver. My car was repaired the following day.
