Not sure why I've been asked to do this, because I've been a GEM members for many years. All I needed to do was to enquire about adding one of my sons to the cover, and this was dealt with speedily and helpfully by the person on the other end of the phone.

Unable to comment on the service of the breakdown service, as I have only just joined and not yet had to make a call out. That said, the assistance and service I had on the phone to resolve a payment issue was second to none. Cannot fault.

Thankfully I have not used my Gem motoring assist, so not able to give you a rating for your service. To date the 5 stars must go to my car and luck. Long may it continue.

I would have given 5 stars but I could not start the cover immediately, it's Saturday evening and I can't start the cover until Monday and I have paid immediately using PayPal. :-(

Have not yet used the breakdown service it self yet and hopefully wont have to, but the ease of joining online and the cost very good .

I was putting off applying for GEM renewal then I received an email. Click on the link, confirm your request, supply payment details all done. Well done GEM for making it so simple

Why isn't the rate of IPT shown on this year's documents? Members might presume that any increase is due in part to an IPT rate increase although IPT is still 6%. I presume that you will show IPT at 9.5% on next year's documents to support further increases?

Called them out once to date. Call centre answered quickly, told me that help would be with me within an hour and it was. I like the fact that they don't put fees up by ridiculous amounts to existing members.

I've been with Gem for about 3 yrs now, and very pleased with the service when I've needed them. However, with regards to renewal costs I'm not impressed at all! You'd think Gem would give a discount to loyal customers, but no. I have renewed but with prejudice, my renewal cost was £96 but if was a new customer it would cost me £81. If a concession isn't given next year for existing customers I won't be renewing.

Easy site to use but would have liked to understand options more - just the two? There is no membership card? How about an email with all the benefits and contacts indicated on s piece of paper that could be printed and cut out - the size of a credit card? Thank you.

Chose to look at GEM as they had come out top in an independent review. I spoke to a Lovely lady on the Sales team and decided to go for the overall package straight away rather than look around further . I feel there is a lot on offer for the money . Thank you

It annoying that you can find the same cover from GEM but they are offering £20 off for new customers.How does the build brand loyalty ? if there is a a promotion this should be available to existing customers without them finding it on a price comparison web site .

Very nice to speak to a human being on the phone without having to wait interminably through all the options. I was dealt with efficiently and fairly. The process did not take long and I could hear clearly (I'm quite deaf). THe person I spoke to was polite and helpful. NB I hope they spelled my name right on my policy, unlike the spelling on the email asking for this review!
