Happily hardly ever need to use this but when you do you find out if it's any good. It has been excellent. Attended in 20 minutes! Not just Best Value but I actually think GEM is the best breakdown service.

Slightly changing my review i made a complaint about Gem they got the call handler company to call me when at work never said who they were that was calling i suffer with post traumatic stress disorder so getting a call like this was very stressfull although it might not off been Gems thought i personally wouldnt use them again they are cheaper than the two big companies but still more expensive than others that do the same

I have just had my renewal date today but refuse to go with this company again and have renewed with a cheaper option Gem use to be good have gone downhill i was stranded in march of this year 2024 they kept putting me on hold and asking me same questions over and over about my membership do not use this company

Call handler was friendly, patient and helpful. It was evident that a change of tyre wouldn't fix the fault and this was validated through considered question/answering. We received the right help within an hour. The recovery driver/firm had telemetry, we were sent a link and could track his location - absolute bonus!

Broke down on the M62 in a thunder storm. We were recovered just 20 mins after calling GEM. Not only were they super speedy, they also sent the right sized recovery truck first time for our over-sized vehicle and rang us twice to check we were ok. They also sent us a tracker so we could see where the recovery truck was and how long it was going to be. Blown away by the fantastic service we had. Highly recommend GEM. We will be renewing again and again. Thank you.

I have a classic car and the clutch let go 400 miles from home, typically. GEM provided excellent service and support to get the car, and us, recovered from the roadside, and then transported back from Scotland, to my garage in Bristol, without any hassle. The local company used - Auto Services Perth - were also excellent and brought us all the way back in a single journey. I cannot praise the service, the communication, and the actual work highly enough. Having your pride and joy let you down is frustrating and stressful, and GEM worked brilliantly to remove as much of the drama as they could. And, the reimbursement (I am on Reclaim) was impressively swift and hassle free. I highly recommend GEM having now had to use them, and will be staying with them. Thank you, GEM Motoring Assist. Mark

Have needed assistance a couple of times and both was a relatively smooth process. The app works but could do with just a bit more polish around recording a problem; e.g. saving partially completed entries (I had to exit to check the address and when I returned to the app, had to start over. It would also be nice if it kept more of a log of the reports. Aside from that, it's worth noting that the service you receive is always going to be down to whichever local recovery company is used. In my case, Connesiuer were really helpful.

The phone operator was very helpful and knowledgeable. The mechanic rang me to say he would get to me within half an hour and turned up 20mins later. He found the fault and fixed it in 5 mins, then I was on my way. Great efficiency.

Very good service, with regular phone calls to check on Progress of recovery. As it was a motorcycle had to wait nearly 2 hours until a specialist recovery was arranged, but understand that. Only reason for 4 stars.

As always GEM have provided excellent assistance when our car would not start. Recovery vehicle arrived within 60 minutes. Luckily the mechanic was able to get the car going. GEM checked that the mechanic had arrived. The claim service is good. Great service.

My daughter drove a Mile from our house and the car flagged up flat tyre. Managed to return home and used the app to summon help. Help arrived within an hour and she was kept informed throughout. Technician excellent - pumped up the tyre and gave advice as to next step to get on the road.

Used the app for the first time to report my breakdown and was very efficient and quick process. A lot quicker than telephoning. E & S Motors were despatched as the contractor and arrived within 30 minutes. The operative was polite, professional and knowledgeable. Started my car no problem. Would recommend.
