“Easy to arrange assistance through the app and over the telephone. Friendly and efficient service from the call centre. Local recovery firm arrived within 30 minutes. Unable to solve the problem at the roadside but correctly diagnosed a burnt out alternator. Recovered the relatively short distance to home to await repairs. A friendly and efficient service from start to finish.”

“Relatively low cost compared to other breakdown companies. They don't do roadside repairs and the cheaper subscription requires you to pay and claim back the pickup costs. However, the service is good and the claim is always paid within a week of requesting it.”

Dear Member Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear that you have had a great experience of using our Recovery RECLAIM pay-and-claim service. We would like to remind you that we can attempt roadside repairs, if the vehicle has broken down at the roadside and is at least a quarter of a mile from your home address. If however, in the opinion of the recovery operator, the vehicle cannot be repaired within 60 minutes, then the vehicle, driver and passengers can be recovered to the nearest suitable garage which is able to repair the vehicle the same working day. “Had to use recently, call centre was very professional and double -checked all the details - local garage sent someone in less than half an hour and I was back on the road 20 minutes later. Can't fault Gem, and they're so much cheaper than AA and RAC.”

“Car broke down at home and needed to be transported to the garage. Rang in the evening and requested a flatbed transporter for the following morning. The transporter arrived within the promised two-hour window and took me and the car to the garage.”

“They quickly answer the phone and the app through CallAssist. The recovery has come within 20 minutes both times with a flatbed to recover the vehicle without any of that "we are sending a van first to count your wheels nonsense." Speedy and reliable.”

“Purely just excellent service, when I broke down, the lady kept calling me back to make sure I was alright,while waiting for the breakdown lorry. As it was very early in the morning, on a high speed road. And on my own,I can't recommend Gem highly enough. I truly believe in the years I have been with them nobody is more caring of their customers.”

“I recently broke down 400 miles from home whilst towing a trailer. The response team were very efficient and I had my first relay driver with me within 1 hour. The second driver took me the remaining distance to my home, some 325 miles. The driver couldn't do enough to help and the customer service team were in constant contact throughout my 10-hour journey checking that everything was OK. Highly recommended.”

“My daughter's car would not start at home. The recovery vehicle arrived in less than an hour. The very helpful mechanic did a good fault-finding process which concluded with the decision he could not find the issue without proper facilities. He then recovered the vehicle to a local garage. All completed quickly and efficiently.”
