Call centre staff were excellent - polite and efficient. Wait for recovery seemed a little long being as the firm was only about 3 miles away.

Simple information and presentation to enable me to make my mind up, other competitors seem to revel in complicated options; RAC wanted £60 more for the same cover. I have already recommended this to a friend.

I'm new to GEM, so my only review can be of the signing up process, which has been excellent. My only suggestion to better it would be for you to have an 0800 number. On that alone you'd probably make a 10% gain in customers.

Simple and uncomplicated ts + cs; fast and relatively easy route to membership; the annoying auto-renewal scam absent here; good communication; good service at the mechanical end and good value. My only criticism is the existence of preferential intro. rates for new customers. John Barnshaw

Having been a member of the RAC since 2006, I enquired with GEM Motoring Assist about membership. It was very simple and straightforward and the operator was very friendly, helpful and made sure that I had all the information needed. I signed up straight away and, because of a promotion, saved almost £200 on what the RAC wished to charge me for renewal. Two days later there was a n article in Which? magazine warning members of unprecedented and unwarranted price increases. Well done GEM Motoring Assist.

To be fair I have faith in Gem, having mentioned that, I have not yet used the system so cannot comment the service, but wish them well.

As I imagine is the case for everybody, I hope that a breakdown recovery service is something that I never have to use. However, based on my GEM experience so far I anticipate that everything will be handled smoothly and efficiently. Reasonable cost for complete peace of mind - Unbeatable!

Hi I was very impressed with the effort your team made to organise my cover at short notice BUT although I paid in full and was assured that cover started today , Sunday 26 June I do not have any paperwork to show I have the cover . I had agreed to email but still no paperwork . I leave home to pick up the car tomorrow Monday 27 June @ 6.00 am and have no documentation in case of an incident. What now?

Your web site was very easy to use, there seemed no fuss at all ... nothing over complicated in the forms to complete. I very much like the SMS message reminding me to save the Emergency number, and best of all the value for money I am paying. So a big thank you!
