“Great service for cover on my 82 motorhome no call outs needed as hands on is allowed with these beauties”

“Telephoned to confirm that you would accept a 30 mile journey to my preferred garage in the event of a failed home start. Was advised to take out the classic car insurance but this was not available on line & only returned to your standard two options. Would prefer to put in car specifics to cover a classic car.”

“Helpful courteous lady (Sam) on phone, Monday 7/3/16 who arranged for mechanic from Hobbs to come out at a convenient time for me. He diagnosed over-fuelling and also thought the exhaust might have a small hole. He too was very polite and helpful, managed to get my car running again and recommended using Esso or Shell fuel in future rather than cheaper brands. I was able to get to our local garage who checked the car over for me and found that the exhaust was in fact OK.”

“I changed to GEM following AA hiking their price for loyal customers while reducing it for new customers. Two years later, GEM did the same thing so I left them also. I never had to use GEM for breakdown service. They do produce a nice magazine, though.”

“Having been a veteran motorist/GEM member for some 53 years, and had membership of the recovery for many years, although having only called for assistance once with clutch failure, I would not hesitate to recommend this service to anyone.”

“Extensively checked ratings of all breakdown cover suppliers GEM consistently came out on top. Very good recommendations from existing subscribers on pricing, service, ease of use if called out to attend a breakdown & staff attitude/politeness. First time I have subscribed to GEM services but on review websites/customer feedback doesn't appear to be much of a gamble. Very easy to understand website 7 application a doddle.”

“An awful experience from GEM. I had to wait well over an hour having being told wrongly on a number of occasions by your call centre that the mechanic was just around the corner when he wasn't. When he arrived the mechanic was clearly in a rush, said he was outside of his area and although started the car simply said its the starter motor and quickly drove off. I called your call centre back and said what happens if the car stops again. I was abruptly told that I needed to get the car to a garage immediately and I was not covered for another call out. I mentioned I was not happy with the service and that my renewal is due this month. Your call centre person was not interested and hung up. Overall a very bad experience and I will not be renewing mine or the other 3 GEM memberships I have with you. Now that I have looked elsewhere you are not even competitive anymore as the RAC match your price for the same service.”

“Recently the head blew on my Kia Sedona when I was in Plymouth. Work had previously been carried out on the vehicle in my home town of Swindon and I was anxious to get the vehicle back to them. Gems arranged everything swiftly and without fuss. Their telephone st,aff are excellent and very considerate and ring back to ensure everything is in place. I am very impressed.”
