I searched on Google for the best breakdown company. I have rated Gem Motoring Assistant as "good" on the basis of their annual quote. However, I have never used their services so can not comment any further.

I am new to GEM and chose you because of price and excellent review by Auto Express to which I subscribe. The only reason I do not give a 'very good' score is because I have 3 vehicles including a classic. I like the look of your more expensive option (which I have chosen) but in your review it seems it would be better with the reclaim option for the classic. It would be better if I could choose a garage of my own for the classic & not have to go to the nearest available at the time if roadside assistance cant sort it and only reclaim up to £70 for transporting the car to my own choice. An extra cost for this would be acceptable. So, in essence it seems one policy is best for an everyday vehicle and one better for a classic. I, like many, have both.

Simple to sign up. I joined at the recommendation of Which? magazine. Interesting to see how they perform if & when I call on them.

After 46 years of being an AA member, we are finally moving! Fed up of constantly being over-charged and having to haggle for a cheaper deal each year - with little success. We barely used their services yet the yearly fee never reflected this. GEM fee is more than half what we were quoted for by the AA for a less comprehensive service. Have we been helping to give AA shareholders a b bigger dividend each year? We shall see this year whether GEM's service is as good as promised.

THE registration and purchase online experience was remarkably straightforward and easy. It was completed in a short a time as reasonably possible and was refreshingly efficient as well as very good value. I hope I don't need it ever but if I do I hope the product lives up to this model. Thanks.
