cannot complain about customer service at GEM, they were prompt informative and kept in contact to update on the situation! another car was broken down at the same services for an hour before i arrived and his top AA cover turned up after my service did! Needed a relay recovery back to Cornwall from Taunton which wasn't ideal but understandable due to it being late on a Sunday. Weston recovery (Somerset) and Highfield garage (Devon) were excellent and friendly! top customer service and good conversation to distract from the long journey! my first mechanic even spoke to my partner on the phone and explained the problem so he could order the part before i even got home! First man with me within 40 minutes and he would have been able to tow me but he didn't have enough seats and the next guy turned up within 30mins to take us to Exeter where we were transferred on to another truck for the final leg!

I was shocked at the price of my AA cover renewal and did a bit on on-line research. Was attracted by the price (half the AA cost) the customer reviews and the fact that the cover extends to my classic cars. When i had a problem doing the on-line form (my fault in fact) I rang up and was amazed that a real person answered the phone almost immediately! That's almost unprecedented these days and made a welcome change. Obviouisly the proof will be in the pudding if and when I break down!

Well it's difficult for us to fault GEM but we can't give full stars due to the fact we've not had to call them to a breakdown however we've renewed for a second year as they remain competitively priced and hassle free. Thank you

we received our renewal which we paid one month in advance , as this had increased by over 23% we phoned to ask why? reason-higher tax-joining offer,now not given-but this price was 12months for the price of 11mths[it would seem that loyal customers are not given anything for loyalty ]12mths for the price of 11 some but still 23% up ! some offer,not a great thank you when you phone [ don't bother] _ __still other companies will benefit.

I am asked to review the prompt service received from my recent breakdown. However, the one a few months before was very late in arriving despite having a 92 year old lady passenger on board. Strangely, I wasn't offered the opportunity to review! I'm doing so now.

Don't be miss lead by the four star rating, I have not had the pleasure or misfortune to need to use the break down cover yet and hope I never will. But I feel sure that if I need to it will be a 5 star service. That's why I can't give a 5 star at the moment. I have how ever used the motor legal service and that is a 5 star.

I have been a GEM member since 1980, and have just renewed my membership. Looking at the information which came with the renewal I thought it was time (advancing years) to get breakdown cover. The query was dealt with very efficiently. The quotation was given, the cover was explained , all in the space of about five minutes. I was very satisfied and pleased with the outcome.

It`s good to be able to contact a real person if you have any query about your membership and to receive a speedy answer from them makes your membership more worthwhile.

My vehicle suffered a broken front spring whilst parked at home. I was pleased to find that my membership covered this type of breakdown. Telephone response from GEM was prompt giving me a specific time for recovery of the car. The recovery vehicle arrived on time and the operative undertook a difficult recovery because the car was in a confined area and one front wheel was jammed by the broken spring. I was impressed with the entire response from first contact to recovery of the car.

My motorcycle broke down two weeks after joining GEM. The initial call to the company was dealt with professionally and courteously. The breakdown vehicle that was used to transport my bike was excellent for the job, which has not been the case with other breakdown companies that I have used in the past. The gentleman who came out to me had my motorcycle loaded in no time at all and took it to the destination of my choice. Very pleased with service and thus I have renewed my cover for another year.

Hi, Being a fellow Member, as you would expect my experience of Motoring Assist goes back many years. With the early days not having to wait by the road side, for the man with the Yellow or Blue Motorcycle combination to arrive hours latter, instead visited nearest Pub, enquired the best local garage and got the car fixed and paid the man. Or stopped the Night while he got a suitable spare part. Which is all it cost me, the rest as they say was on the "House". Moving forward to as "modern as I get", in the event of a breakdown use the Mobil give position, wait few minutes and you get a text message giving how long and who's coming . Over the Years have been tempted to find an alternative Breakdown Service, But "Auto Express" don't think there is one as good, or cost effective.

I have heard from my friend and search on internet. They were claiming they are good. My first contact with customer services was also good. I am sure that they would be good in overall services
