Concerned that I had let my membership lapse I emailed GEM on Sunday and received a phone-call from GEM on Monday. I found that I had let it lapse and while on the phone was quickly and efficiently made a member again.

i phoned up GEM to renew policy and got a person............straight away......no automated system at all! Service has also been great. had one break down last year and all deal with very well! 100 percent recommend

An insurer that offers many benefits. A professionally run business, and always in communication with their customers regardless of whether claims are made or not. Pricing is OK, but not the cheapest, and has increased - it would be pleasing to find that pricing remained the same providing a claim is not made.

Only just joined based upon 'Which?' magazine and other ratings. Joining experience was good though I am disappointed to find the the breakdown app is not available for Windows phones.

I found the whole process quite painless.So far seems ok,I've been with AA for years,other reviews all seem satisfied .Good price for complete package,hopefully I won't need them but feel comfortable with everything . Dave , Launceston Cornwall .

I have been a member for two or three years, so I am a little annoyed to receive a renewal notice with a quotation of £15 above the net web price for the same offer. Why???

Gem gives me peace of mind when out and about in the Beach Buggy, and indeed any car i may be driving. Good cover at a resonable price, although its cheaper if you let your membership run out and then re-join on the introductuary rate !. Not that i have done this but it was a thought.

Buying breakdown cover is much simpler than with the competitors and the price was better. Not had to call them out yet - I'm hoping I never will!

cannot complain about customer service at GEM, they were prompt informative and kept in contact to update on the situation! another car was broken down at the same services for an hour before i arrived and his top AA cover turned up after my service did! Needed a relay recovery back to Cornwall from Taunton which wasn't ideal but understandable due to it being late on a Sunday. Weston recovery (Somerset) and Highfield garage (Devon) were excellent and friendly! top customer service and good conversation to distract from the long journey! my first mechanic even spoke to my partner on the phone and explained the problem so he could order the part before i even got home! First man with me within 40 minutes and he would have been able to tow me but he didn't have enough seats and the next guy turned up within 30mins to take us to Exeter where we were transferred on to another truck for the final leg!

I was shocked at the price of my AA cover renewal and did a bit on on-line research. Was attracted by the price (half the AA cost) the customer reviews and the fact that the cover extends to my classic cars. When i had a problem doing the on-line form (my fault in fact) I rang up and was amazed that a real person answered the phone almost immediately! That's almost unprecedented these days and made a welcome change. Obviouisly the proof will be in the pudding if and when I break down!
