Thus far have only experienced joining on-line not the breakdown service. The on-line process was very simple and very clear, with all questions answered on the 'Recovery Extra' cover that we have taken for two of us. The cover is more comprehensive than our previous provider at a significantly lower cost than the renewal cost of our previous provider. Documents and on-line info. once we joined are very clear and can be printed off to pop in the car until our cards etc arrive.

Very easy to join, it is the person that is covered, rather than the vehicle, which is fine with me. i did have one query about recovery if a long way from home, and they answered the phone on the second ring (none of that 'experiencing unusually high call volumes' nonense) and answered my question thoroughly. Not needed to use the service yet, but they have been rated number 1 by AutoExpress readers for the last two years, so should be OK!

It is very disappointing that even with only one car in the family, two memberships are required if driving is shared between husband and wife. This makes it much more expensive and less competitive.

I think it is a bit naughty asking for a review of a service that has only just been bought by a customer. I looked at TrustPilot and the reviews were mixed, and those are from customers that have used the service, but as a business owner myself I know people are very quick to write a bad review but not as quick to write a good review so am willing to try you guys for a year and see how your service is. However I would suggest asking customers for a review AFTER USING your service, not for just subscribing to it...

I am new to GEM Motoring Assist. My requirement was a cheaper car recovery policy and the option to pay annually. The whole process was very straightforward. It was a ‘best in class’ from the ‘Which’ website: of which I am a member.

I have only joined Gem today, so haven't had to use them as yet. Decided to join this particular breakdown organisation as they were top of the Which recommended best buys, had very good reviews and appeared to be priced very favourably compared to the other market leaders.

A very easy process which was enhanced by the help box. I needed to check cover for a 22 year old motor home and was ably assisted by Diane. If the breakdown service is as good I will be very satisfied.

Full marks on simplicity of application, although 'conditions' should be in larger print. Hopefully we will not call on you, but proof will be in the pudding should we have to!
