Needed Holiday home insurance, our existing insurer had put the premium up 43% (we had not made any claims). The buying experience was great, simple questions. Options to adjust sensible risk requirement for example how long the property will be empty for. How it should be.

Cover that we are sure meets our needs, timely contact at end of policy and an easy renewal process. When I had to speak to someone in the last few days it was easy to get through and was handled well.

Classic insurance company behaviour ...pushing through double digit increases - no explanation of course - in this environment of low inflation Disappointing and shows scant respect or valuing of previously loyal customer

Our house was flooded in July 2019 following freak flooding in North Yorkshire and the service we have received has been dreadful. It now March and the house is still in a state of chaos and we can’t stay there, we are constantly told ‘You will hear from us shortly’ - we are still waiting to have our house put back together, are we being unreasonable to be disappointed after almost 9 months?

Customer service was excellent. The whole process was straight forward and really easy to understand. The customer service advisor was great and went through the policy on loads of detail making it easy to understand

This year my insurance was renewed automatically, it was very easy and I did nothing and was happy with the premium. I've been with them for a few years and chose because they have protection for homeowners that have lodgers. Last year I did have a bit of an issue because I had to simply change my payment method (expired bank card) and had to choose either to listen to terms of my insurance again on the phone by an agent or recieve by post. I was on holiday at the time so chose phone and it took a long time and feel they also tried to charge me for a change in my cover for the simple change in payment that was unavoidable as the card has expired. I had to answer so many questions and was on the phone ages! Next time I will elect for the postal option as literally all I wanted to do was change the payment card but felt I was being set up somewhat to make a policy change and therefore incur a charge. Still however, the agent was polite and I find homeprotect on the whole the best option for my circumstances at a decent price so I stick with it and continue renewing.
