There are two elements to effective work from an insurance company at the time a client requires it. First is the the communication and support offered at the primary response level. Second is the quality of subsequent refurbishment. The craftsmen and businesses employed by Home Protect are excellent. They know their stuff and and did a first class job on putting our house back together after a flood. 5 Stars to them. By comparison however, the quality of the Home Protect team at the end of the phone when you contact them is incredibly poor. Even to the point of being told in our first call that despite having a house full of water, we had no claim. I am sorry to say that the person who then dealt with later issues at customer services was even worse. I hope that these were just temporary blips from Home Protect - perhaps regular staff were isolating? Given that you normally only ring when something bad has happened to you, this is an aspect of their service that they would wish to improve. 1 star.

We had a large claim 3 years ago and expected our premiums to increase greatly. They didn't just excess increased but has since reverted back. Very impressed

I've been using homeprotect for years, one of the few insurers I found ideal for our listed building/home. The few times I've called them they have been very pleasant to talk to.

As a pensioner who is not comfortable working online I was very happy that I could talk to a human being on the phone who resolved all my queries. Only problem was that the gentleman I spoke to promised to email me something I had asked for in writing which I never received.

1 You were open! 2You had phone lines open and dealt with the matter by phone. 3You appeared to have people working in an office 'cos they could go and ask for help when needed. 4 you were not bothered about unusual construction 5. You were able to deal with costing immediately 6. You offered a competitive insurance 7.you were able to send paper documents. ( better here if they had address of risk property o all documents sent separately made me wonder if i'd been scammed since just policy with no reference) 8 staff very courteous/ helpful and efficient. Well done!

My first policy with them and the quote included lots of extras that were additional fees with other companies. So their price was the most competitive.

Renewal was far more expensive than first year quote. The only way to get a reasonable quote was to input all of the information again and sign up as a new customer, which took over an hour on the phone. The person on the phone was helpful, but would have been acceptable to just have a competitive renewal quote.

I received my renewal from Home Protect expecting the premium to have shot up, (as does happen with so many other companies). But no, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the increase was minimal and certainly acceptable. Well done HomeProtect.

This was an insurance for a second home - a flat in a remote seaside town with low property values. My insurance premium had crept up over the years to the point where ( buildings only ) it was approaching my home premium ( buildings and contents ), so I thought that I really should change. HomeProtect provided the same cover at what I thought was an appropriate premium. Every penny counts and you really do need to shop around.

It’s my first home insurance with this company which I purchased on line. I’d never purchased insurance on line but it seemed clear and easy to manage for someone who is not computer savvy
