“I had a very disappointing experience with GoSkippy. After a year of holding a policy with them, I found out they declined to renew my car insurance without providing any explanation or notifying me. I reached out to them multiple times over the phone, and each time, I was told that my renewal quote wasn’t ready. Eventually, after being transferred to different departments and waiting on hold for over 40 minutes, someone finally confirmed that my policy wouldn’t be renewed.
I was a reliable customer, with no accidents, late payments, or claims, and I even paid my premiums six months in advance. Yet, I was left without coverage and no clear reason as to why they refused to renew my policy. The lack of communication and transparency from GoSkipy was extremely frustrating and unprofessional.
If you’re looking for reliable insurance with responsive customer service, I would not recommend GoSkipy based on my experience.”

“I had to change my car over as the one which was insured had failed an MOT, these guys refused to alow the change and insisted i take out temp cover, i argued that without an MOT i could not drive the car which was insured but they refused to help and i am several hundred quid down on temp cover, i have emailed in response to this on 14th Oct and still not had a response, they have blocked my online account so i cant make online changes. avoid these guys if you can”

I have been trying for 2 days to pay for my car insurance and all I want is someone to ring me with the code! “Wouldn't even bother insuring anything through this company... tried to cancel my car insurance as my car broke and I no longer have it and they are trying to charge me £268 to cancel.... and wownt even give me a breakdown of cost to why they are charging so much!!! I get they want to charge somthing for the cancellation but £268 and not showing me why it is that much is so wrong...”

“It's a pity you cannot select minus 5 stars as this company are a bunch of amateurs.
After a misunderstanding regarding no claims discount these money grabbing amateurs have cancelled my policy after a month's cover and it has cost me 6 times more than the 1 months premium. They cancelled my cover and charged me £75 for cancelling it. They failed to even offer me another quote
I would advise that nobody sane should not use this terrible company”

“Poor service staff need more training called up as my new quote arrived by email was not happy with quote so called up member of staff gave the new price and discount but told me I needed to contact them the following week as they could not do the quote straight away contacted today 7 11 2024 to be told the member of staff gave me the wrong quote they don't no what they are doing also at one point the staff I spoke to laughed that's so unprofessional very disappointed I will be looking to change”

“Great Quote, but when I came to pay the payment code sent by email was NOT accepted. The only way to enter it was to come out of the comparison site whereupon the system refused to accept the payment quoting 'payment process incomplete'. Been trying to pay for 2 hrs now. “Absolute joke this company....DO NOT USE bn insured with them fully comp for 2years...was hit by a uninsured driver in a stolen car to find because police couldn't find the driver I lost my no claims and 4 week before my renewal they opened a investigation into the accident that bumped my premium up by over £600 was told I'd be due to get it back as well as my no claims bonus for months afterwards..for them to then say I'm actually due nothing due to them not bn able to trace the driver of the stolen car.....”

I purchased a policy through comparison website
They didn’t bother to phone me or contact me after purchasing through them to check if my details were correct as we all can make mistakes
Turns out I did make a small mistake regarding my registration as it was a new vehicle to me
I requested a refund which was well within the 14 day cooling off period (next day) and I was told it will take 3-5 working days to refund me and a £45 cancellation fee
Still waiting for my money to be refunded to me after 3 weeks
I’ll definitely be some research next time

You get a quote through a comparison website then they tell you they cant validate your details so you have to call their number? When you call the number they then tell you it will cost an extra £20 to complete the proposal on the phone ???? WTF???
Then when you have to accept the additional charges they then tell you that you cant set up the direct debit through banks such as Monzo, Revolut and sometimes Barclays. Oh and in the meantime the quote you got through the comparison website that they say is valid for 6 days has been automatically increased??
I am amazed the Insurance Ombudsman hasnt shut this money making, profiteering scum down.”

“While GoSkippy were pretty good as a broker the underwriter, in my opinion, are not. After a collision that was not my fault, the 3rd party disputed it. This is when the underwriter just wanted me to claim off my own insurance and were unwilling to push for a resolution any further. I had to contact an accident management company who, within 2 weeks, had the issue resolved in my favour. I will not be using GoSkippy again!!!”

“I received my 2024 van renewal which was £649.36 (last year price £574.04) and after checking over documents I noticed that I had only 1 yrs NCB showing on my renewal policy documents.
I contacted Go Skippy helpline on 02/11/2024 to advise that I will have 3 yrs at end of policy, Call handler was not very pleasant to speak with but eventually agreed to change NCB to the 3 yrs.
I asked what difference this would make to my premium, I was told that it made no difference, I found this a bit strange but agreed to renew with for another year, I was emailed showing amended 3 yrs NCB and total premium was £649.36 and was happy to proceed.
On 04/11/2024 (2 days later) I received an email saying thank you for renewing with Go Skippy and noticed the total price was now £819.44, I spent a couple of hours trying to contact helpline but they didn’t answer.
I phoned the next day on 05/11/2024, I again found the call handler to be aggressive, He explained that the price hike would have been caused with my 02/011/2024 phone call to amend my NCB from 1 yr to 3 yr; I was blown away with this statement to be honest.
I told him that I had received an updated email after the first call and everything was the same albeit the amended NCB, I reminded him that I still have this email and he then became apologetic and asked to put me on hold so that he could look into this.
The call handler then came back and said that he didn’t know why this could have happened but will now need to re-quote me for this year; Strangely enough we now have the total price of £819.44 for this year.
By this time I have had enough and advised him that I can’t accept this updated quote and will not be renewing with them this year, He again apologized and said he was sorry this happened, I replied “and so you should be”
I asked if he could cancel any payment request with my card holder as it was now showing that there was a pending transaction for £819.44 but unfortunately you cannot cancel a pending payment request with your bank.
I was told that I will be given a refund but will have to wait 3-5 days for this.
To sum everything up, if I hadn’t noticed the new total amount requested on the last email received then I would have been even more upset than what I am just now.
Surely you don’t treat all your customers like this? or think that everyone is stupid, vulnerable or can be intimidated by your aggressive call handlers.”
