About Gazegill Organics:

Our family have been farming at Gazegill for about 500 years and as current custodians our responsibility to continue farming in a sustainable and nature led way is very important. We have always believed that nature is never wrong and farming organically produces healthier food from happier animals within a sound ecological system. Happy, healthy animals make better food with a traditional flavour. The rare and traditional breeds that we keep are better suited to the organic system and are slowly grown, this ensures a longevity of life based around a natural approach to farming. We love them to bits, they are our extended family.

“a couple of steaks look good, 2 steaks were slimy and tough under the fingers, and two steaks, as you can see in the pictures, have a dark color with a green reflection of the color, it seems to me that two steaks are spoiled (rump steak) pork the meat looks good and the lard is good.”

“The shop price of 1 litre of milk used to be £1.50. And I'm talking less than 5 years ago - not 'back in the day'. Then it edged up to £1.75 a litre. Then a few months later £2 a bottle. I stopped buying at this price as I felt the company had got greedy. I rang up today to check the price of milk and was astounded to find that the price of milk is now a whopping £3.40 for 1 litre of milk. That's right. You have read it correctly: £3.40. They are obviously 'milking' the healthy organic thing for all its worth because no normal family can afford this crazy price. Gazegill - okay for the lord of the manor; not okay for anyone else. And to think that raw milk is easier to produce as it's straight from the cow. And there's no middle-man. Gazegill must be grinning all the way to the bank. Oh and by the way, when I called to find out the current price and made it clear that I'd not be buying more, they hung up on me!”

Hi there, On the basis that our organic raw milk is sold out a vast majority of the time, and usually sells out within an hour of being back in stock online, we would argue it Is good value. The demand for raw milk, specifically organic, has more than doubled over the past two years. Our production has increased by minimal amounts in comparison, as it takes at least three years for a female calf to become a fully-fledged dairy cow. We frequently have to turn down new customers who would like to purchase our milk, as intensifying our farming practices to increase our milk yield goes directly against our ethos. The cost of everything required for our business to run has increased significantly over the past couple of years too, as it has for almost every other business. We are sorry if you feel our organic raw milk has become too expensive for you. We have also reviewed your phone call, and the member of staff you spoke to did not 'hang up'. “Been buying from Gazegill for years, excellent quality, just last time the meat was not good, I thought it happens. That didn't stop me from ordering. The mince I've received this time is not like the ones we've had for years. Tastes different, like mixed with giblets. I really hope to get the quality as before. It was impressively good.”

“I was expecting so much more. Ordered the paleo sausages, and they were tasteless. To add insult to injury, the price was ludicrous - £7.49 for six "thick" sausages, which were really rather small and £4.49 for the "thin" sausages which were the size of my middle finger. I never mind paying more for superior quality but this is daylight robbery. Very poor indeed!”

“Excellent Meat, but customer service extremely poor. Placed order on the 10th of January and today 17th still no dispatch of order or explanation to why. Called on 2 occasions asking why not dispatched and each time Friday the 12th and Monday 15th was told it would be dispatched on Monday. No email explaining the delay and no effort to apologise. Asked to cancel order and no effort to retain my custom. Shame because the products tick all our requirements, but sadly customer service is what makes a business successful and warrant returning customers. Have alternatives in Piercebridge Organics and Cross Lanes Organic Farm Shop.”

“I ordered a Christmas smoked gammon. The quality of the meat for the price was fantastic. Delivery and packaging were spot on. My only feedback would be the inclusion of some cooking advice ie I needed to know if needed boiling/soaking. I soaked then roasted on bed of dried fruit but it tasted slightly salty. In future I would boil then finish in oven. I will definitely order again”
