About Furniture World:

Furniture World is a furniture store selling a wide variety, ranging from sofas, beds, living & dining furniture and accessories.

Furniture World was established in 1984 with a small bricks and mortar store in Redruth, Cornwall. Today, Furniture World has 6 stores across Cornwall and Devon, and a reputable online presence.

We sell across many channels that include Amazon and E-bay where our online business has had significant success which is based on quality customer service and fast delivery of stock from our warehouse based in Cornwall.
We have grown from marketplaces to now running a dedicated website that still keeps a 5* customer service at the core of our business.

Your staff in-store (at different times we went to the St Austell and Plymouth branches) are great, really helpful, and your customer service staff also seem to be doing their best. We're also really pleased with the furniture. The problem is with your courier, V1 Distribution. Their online service is appalling and they repeatedly scheduled delivery dates that didn't work for us. We needed the furniture on a specific date, and bought stock items and ordered/paid in full well over a month in advance in order to facilitate this; we also repeatedly made clear that we needed the items delivered on 27-28 September because this was when we were moving house. It took V1 absolutely ages to get the memo, and they were rude and dismissive when my wife phoned to chase them up. When they eventually did schedule delivery for 28 September, the guys who turned up immediately told us that the three-seater sofa we'd ordered wouldn't fit in the house, and we basically had to negotiate with them to at least give it a go (it did fit in, albeit through a downstairs window). Tl;dr you need to either bring your courier/delivery operation fully in-house, or employ actual professionals to do it.

Thank you for your review. Although criticism isn’t nice, we appreciate you sending through your comments. Having feedback whether good or bad ensures that we can ensure our service is customer focussed and efficient. The courier company we use carry our many nationwide deliveries for us on a weekly basis with many happy customers. Very occasionally there are challenges aligning delivery areas with customer requirements, but checking the courier log although you were offered an earlier date which you had the right to refuse, a mutually convenient date was subsequently booked for a few days later. The courier company have to do a risk assessment to ensure the furniture is not damaged on delivery which is why the access issue was raised. It was kind of them to deliver it through your window.

Took 3.5 months to deliver a trunk that was supposed to be delivered in 2 weeks. When it eventually arrived they had sent a TV stand instead, wh8ch is still cluttering up my home whilst awaiting collection.

Good afternoon Mr Lewis Firstly , I would like to apologise for the incorrect item being sent to you , this was a picking error at our supplier . Once you had notified us that the wrong item had been sent , the team arranged for the correct item to be sent to you along with packaging for the incorrect item . We asked if you could contact us once the incorrect item was ready for collection , which you did so yesterday and a courier has been arrange to collect the incorrect item today for you . Please do let the team know if you need any further assistance in the matter .

Delivery was ok but did have to ask the person to lift it over the step for me. Coffee table was lovely and the wood colour matched my furniture well

Easy and straightforward to order online. Good communication. Delivery guy courteous and carried the item into.our hallway. Well packaged and superfast delivery, less than 24hrs after ordering.

I placed my order of 10 chairs and 2 stools at the end of May and the stools were delivered within a week or so the chairs however took 3 months! At no point did FW contact me to discuss the delay, no mention of long delays on the website, order confirmation or at any other time. I had to contact them to be told and even then expected delivery times were vague. The communication with customers is automated and sparce. When they did send the item for delivery I was given less than 24 hours notice which wasn’t enough to book time off work to be there. I then had to reschedule evening plans to accommodate their haulier. When I unboxed the 10 dining chairs they were a completely different shade of grey to the previously delivered stools? I haven’t bothered contacting FW as I’m sure they will just say different batches, which could have been avoided if they were all sent from the same batch I’m sure. Anyway to ensure I have dining chairs for Christmas I don’t want to risk sending them back . My advice is go somewhere else!

Good morning Melanie I’m sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the service you have received regarding your recent order with us , I have looked into this for you and I can see that we did update you with the delivery delay for part of your order . The sales team offered for you to cancel or reselect to other items which may be available for a faster delivery , once your order arrived into our warehouse on the 6th August we were unable to dispatch it straight away as you instructed us that you would be on holiday from the 3rd - 16th August . The order was dispatched from our warehouse on the 17th August and delivery was made to yourself on the 23rd August . We do understand our customers frustration that orders can sometimes take a little longer than planned , this is due to unforeseen circumstances and customers are kept updated

I can't fault Furniture WORLD at all. The first cabinet I ordered was delivered next day and when I opened the carton it was the wrong size. I phoned straight away to let them know and spoke to Jade who told me it was the one I had asked for. My fault not Furniture WORLD's. But Jade said it wasn't a problem I only needed to pay the extra cost of the larger TV cabinet and it would be delivered. I was very impressed not only with Furniture WORLD but also with Jade's calm manner and the professional way she handled my phone call and order. The cabinet arrived a few days later and we are delighted with it, and also V1 Distribution's prompt delivery. Thanks again to all at Furniture WORLD especially Jade.

Brought two sideboards 1 came very quickly although I had to phone to find out when is it due and the second one took ages to come but I think this was outside of there control although the day I re chose it did not come on that day so I had to rearrange another day
