Joyce was an engaging and pleasant trainer and managed to guide me to a pass. Thank you, Joyce! I'd use Freevacy again.

Freevacy is a well-oiled learning machine. Led by Joyce who's experience and course notes suitably match her extensive industry experience. Behind the scenes, her admin team are just as well-oiled with follow-up emails and support emails expediently sent when required. I can't recommend Freevacy highly enough.

I studied for my certificate in Freedom of Information with Freevacy. It was brilliant - our trainer was extremely knowledgable and made a potentially very dry subject extremely entertaining and interesting. I’m pleased to say that my colleague and I passed the course and we couldn’t have done it without this excellent tuition.

Initial communication was excellent. Course material arrived on time, no problems. Course material is very comprehensive, supported by the Powerpoint presentation by Julie who delivered the training. Julie was very very knowledgeable in the subject area, used numerous real life examples to explain the training, welcomed contribution from students and examples from their own areas of work which informed the whole group. Comprehensive and challenging course but Julie delivered the training in a friendly and all inclusive format. A lot to learn but felt supported during the course.

I find it incredibly confusing that the course notes and training slides are not in the same order and the content is massively different, e.g stuff is mentioned in the text but not in the slides or vice versa . Ive been on a couple of different freevacy courses and this has been the case with both.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that your experience wasn't as you would have hoped. The BCS Essentials Certificate in Artificial Intelligence is a new course for us; as such, we are still evolving the materials. We develop our BCS course manual and slides in-house, and our goal is to provide sufficient information to align with the syllabus as well as other relevant additional information to provide further context to the topics. Our trainer thought some of the BCS slides were helpful and included them. While he added a slide at the beginning to explain the manual and slides are not always in sync, we can see how this might be confusing. We have taken your feedback onboard and will endeavour to make sure the presentation and manual fit together better in the future. Regarding the BCS practitioner certificate in data protection, this is an established programme for us, and we are confident that the materials align. We would be happy to discuss your experience in order to understand why you had difficulty in following the course.

The course was very informative, I learned a lot about FOI in the two weeks. Joyce was fab - very knowledgeable and made the course interesting and enjoyable. I was glad the course was online as it made it more accessible for me. I would have personally preferred to do the course in 1 week full days but this is just a personal preference. Overall I can't fault anything!

Julie was a great trainer with excellent knowledge of the subject with practical experience. Ian ran the exam prep day, which I would thoroughly recommend if you are planning on taking an exam any time soon as his tips were very helpful in passing. Freevacy was extremely organised and timely in getting course content to me and arranging course sessions. Even when the exam content changed the week before starting the course they could not have been more helpful. Would thoroughly recommend Freevacy.

Completed the CIPM course and found it to be incredibly useful. The content was clear and delivered well by the tutor, Julie. Julie was great as she made the content meaningful to my role. I needed a course that would help me with the practicalities of my role and this delivered that well.

I had a great experience learning with the help of Freevacy about Data Protection! It was a very good use of my time: I enjoyed the trainer and the training! I was also able to pass the certification exam right after the training! The most important thing for me, being passionate about Data Protection and Privacy by design, was to learn more about the current regulations and how they can be applied in my day-to-day job and my personal life. Thank you Freevacy!

Firstly, Amber was excellent. Really knowledgeable and friendly, good at breaking things down and explaining things and I have absolutely no complaints with her delivery. What I was not a fan of, is the training format or course content. Usually in online training courses, you are put into breakout rooms or spaces and asked to discuss ideas or given case studies to analyse together etc. then invited back to discuss as a group. As someone who really struggles to retain information delivered in a lecture format, I found it quite hard to follow, particularly as the nature of the course is centered around the dissection of legislation and legal text, which is very 'wordy'. We did have multiple choice questions to complete individually at the end of each day but this doesn't encourage free thinking as the correct answer will always be written in front of you as a prompt. Similarly, it doesn't create any real opportunity for discussion or application of learning.

The instruction was most valuable for getting ready for exams. The instructor appears to be quite informed about the subjects. Instead of CIPPs, I opted for live online CIPT training in my case. I anticipated that I might get technical expertise in how to put in place privacy protections and practical experience. However, rather than focusing on hands-on activities and the kinds of technical controls employed in the current industry, the CIPT training was presented as lectures where the instructor read from slides. I did not anticipate the context debate to be as long as it was and sometimes, it is too cool to be focused on. I sincerely hope that Freevacy/IAPP will focus more of the CIPT training on practical applications and hands-on skills as opposed to lecturing and reading from slides, which may be the proper method of instruction in CIPP/E/US etc. But generally speaking, it was useful though from the exam prep. Thanks.
