“I love the integrated time recording - it is essential to efficient running of my (fledgling) accountancy business. Being able to see how much time I've spent against budget, what I have billed, what is coming up to be billed is great. My one gripe is the presentation of sales invoices - I think all the layouts are a bit poor. I don't have a logo (I'm so small, and not a designer/techy type, so would have to pay for one), so it's very difficult to make the invoice look smart.”

“Generally very positive - intuitive and easy to use. Does everything I need and time and expenses recording processes through to invoices is great, plus handling all the VAT and PAYE through to submitting to HMRC. Only reservation to date is on the dividends - you should be able to edit the pro forma minute/dividend voucher on Free Agent then have the system automatically save / hold so it can be accessed from the dividends tab. Better still is if you could use the dividends tab to set up a dividend, rather than having to use a journal.”

“I use Free Agent to run two separate businesses. It is very easy to use and on the rare occasion I do need assistance the the spport is fantastic. Although oneof the businesses is not perhaps the type Free Agent was intended for and i have to work round one or two things it is still better to use that other packages I have tried”

“Excellent site, really takes the hassle out of running accounts, invoicing, expenses, tax returns and the like. I hate this kind of paperwork, and this takes away the pain. Only minor niggles are that the support for multi-currency isn't fantastic, particularly when dealing with foreign currency bank accounts, but that's a problem very specific to my business.”

“Really easy to use and understand. Enables you to keep track of invoices, bills and money in the bank very easily. However it would be nice to be able to do a bit more analysis of figures using FreeAgent directly. But overall its a great product!”

“Great system, though there are some areas that need developing: reporting is too limited more bank feeds set-up (triodos please!) ...but these will be building on a great platform - keep it up!”

“I tried all the apps for this service and Freeagent just fit the bill with easy to use functionality. I run my own business so have to do everything myself. Using Freeagent, I can see where I am financially with input expenses and invoices and seeing how much VAT I will need to pay allows me to budget. I can invoice so easily and the reminders is a great feature ensuring I get paid pretty much on time for everything. Great value and great features with excellent support.”

“Initially it took me a little while to work out the best way to use FreeAgent to meet my needs, probably because I'm prone to diving straight in and I didn't totally understand the instructions. However, all of a sudden it just clicked. Since then, FreeAgent has been brilliant. It has made everything so easy for me. My monthly accounts now take me about an hour is so to do, but I am a small limited company with only two directors. All my transactions are uploaded from my bank, I link then to reason codes and attach scans etc. I balance the remaining monies and hey presto, done. Simple.”

“Overall functionality is excellent and we're happy with the system (we have 3 accounts running). What's frustrating is the lack of any real roadmap to incorporate new features and reports....to be frank it doesn't really look like the system is being developed very much. A lot of what people are asking for on forums (including ourselves) seems to have been ignored for years. We'll stay put but it would be great to see a pro-active list of new features coming up. I think you need to keep a weather eye on other online accounts suppliers who may be more flexible with system enhancements going forwards!”

“Your account software is very easy to use, however, There are a few things that would make it perfect for me! I sell products, and having a button i can tick to say the order is dispatched would be massively helpful. Also imputing of information in the "details" box on an "add invoice item" is time consuming if like me you are putting in a lot of products. Using a code that automatically puts in a description would be a massive time saver, rather than scrolling through my price list or imputing the start of the description and waiting for the software to guess my input. I would like the "Qty" in, "add invoice" item to be set to MY defult setting "products" not, "hours" For me, although your softwere is great the least amount of time I spend using it would make it even better. “FreeAgent is an easy-to-use piece of accounting software; the user guides (covering things like how to enter opening balances, etc) and the VAT reporting facility are excellent. I'd give it a higher rating except the 3rd party plug-in's (for capturing expenses using your iPhone, etc) are of variable quality. Whilst you could say that's down to the 3rd party vendors, if FreeAgent allows them access without ensuring they are of the same, high quality - then that reflects on them negatively. If you are considering using FreeAgent as your stand alone accounting facility, then don't hesitate; it's very good.”

“I started my own business last year and I have found FreeAgent really easy to use even for someone like me with no experience of book-keeping or accounting. The support staff have been excellent anytime I have needed to contact them. They explain things in layman's terms and just make the whole thing less daunting! Thanks! Keep up the good work!”

“It used to take me at least 2 days to do my end of year accounts with all the repetitive data input to match my bank statements. Now I've moved to Freeagent it takes about 2 hours! I now import the statements straight from my bank and into the software. The software automatically remembers similar transactions so its easy to file multiple entries to the correct account. Freeagent you're fantastic - hank you.”

“After years of frustration having to work with old-fashioned, expensive & poor accounting software I was recommended to try FreeAgent. Two years later I can say that FreeAgent is streets ahead of everything else, simple to use, has all the functions necessary, excellent support on the rare occasion it is required, great value for money and, by making it cloud-based, it is accessible anywhere.”

“A great tool. It covers all the needs for my small partnership and the self-assessment section gives me a good idea of what the tax for each partner is going to be, so we don't get a surprise at year end. One extra feature I would like to see is favourites for mileage expenses, so I don't have to set the details the same each time I visit a client for the same reason.”
