“Having only limited experience with drones and being somewhat older than most I was not sure what to expect, however from the outset of the 5 day course I was impressed. The lead instructor made us all welcome and presented in an informative and engaging manner. There was much to pack in and the pace was pretty fast but time was taken to ensure all had a firm grasp and thorough understanding of the knowledge required of a professional drone pilot. Scenarios were discussed at length to make the subjects come alive and I believe we all came away from ground school greatly enlightened. Flying started on day 3 and was one to one, with several extra instructor pilots joining to help out. At no point did I feel my lack of experience was a hindrance, the instructors I worked with were calm and patient, taking the time to emphasise where I had improved and help with flight exercises I found challenging. The Flight Skills Test which I initially perceived as a daunting prospect, turned into an enjoyable learning experience, with much to take away from the debrief. From day 3 we also spent time discussing the development of our operations manuals, a concept new to most students. It was clear that Flyby were going to be supportive throughout the process of gaining the PfCO and not just there to deliver the training and cut us loose. I have no reservations in recommending this course in the highest terms. All of the students came to the course as hobbyists but left with a strong understanding of what it means to be a professional in this emerging industry. I wish all my fellow students every success and with the ongoing support from Flyby, am in no doubt they will rise to the challenge of developing their own careers in this exciting line of work.”

“It has been a fantastic experience to undergo training with Flyby Technology to achieve my PfCO. The Groundschool was two days of combining both learning and discussion to be comfortable with safety, air law, reading air maps, meteorology and good operating procedures. Some parts were new to me, but Dicky Bird, the instructor, was excellent in breaking down the subject matter in to manageable chunks and took time to impart knowledge and understanding. Although I was nervous, the test at the end of Groundschool, although challenging, wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, because of the quality of the training and discussions during Groundschool. Excellent support is given to help you create your own Ops Manual that prescribes the way you are going to operate. Flyby are there for any advice that me be needed here. Plenty of good quality flying practice then led me to the Flight Skills Test. The watchword here is preparation. I had practised my routines by using my checklists and had all my kit ready and prepared. It still didn't stop me being nervous beforehand! The Test instructor soon put me at ease though and I went through all the procedures I had been practising, the flying itself and then post flight procedures. All I can say is that this part of my journey has been made enjoyable, challenging and interesting because of the type of people at Flyby Technology. Their ability to impart knowledge, support where necessary and to remain absolutely professional in all aspects of what they do is a credit to them.”

“The quality of the service from Flyby Technology was evident the moment I spoke with them. With previous aviation experience I joined at the applied phase and they helped me every step of the way through the FST and Ops Manual preparation. The training documentation is very thorough and they continue to support me which is a great comfort. The instructors have so much experience and you can tell that teaching people is a delight for them, and that makes it such a warm, welcome and relaxing environment for the students. Worth every penny.”

“I cannot fault the guys who run FlyBy Technology! Their attention to detail, not just with the course, but also with the guys and ladies who partake. I was in the middle of the course and due to ill health had to pull out some months after taking the Ground School part. I contacted Jon Parker explaining my situation regarding my health. With all the continual help from Flyby Technology via multiple emails, multiple phone calls, I wasn't expecting a refund. Jon Parker rang me personally after hearing of my health and offered me a substantial refund along with a genuinely compassionate offer. All the help, emails, calls etc, I was expecting FlyBy Technology to charge me for (seemed reasonable to me, the amount of time that they had invested in me). They never charged a penny extra! Subsequently only charging me for the first part, which was the groundschool. After taking the ground school, my enthusiasm was abundant, (what an amazing amount of information you retain from it). The way the course is set out, it enables you to retain the information. The instructor was another genuinely nice guy, a great teacher, experienced, professional yet friendly and approachable. They also speak in a way you can understand what's being said. After the course i received my OM. Although I was continually contacting FlyBy Technology and Jon Parker personally with questions, I never felt that I was intruding. They always have time for you. Emails are answered quickly, phone calls are answered, helpful, informative, experienced answers. That 'personal touch' you cannot buy elsewhere. The guys are Committed, Compassionate, unbelievably Helpful, Professional with years of experience. I never felt like a number, they truly 'want' to give their very best and pass on their valuable, informactive experience onto others. I would recommend and have recommended this company FlyBy Technology, to anyone who wants professional instruction for their PfCO certification. Having completed a course with then, I recommend Flby Technology from my own personal experience.”

“What a journey! Having booked Flyby Technology for my drone training I can now safely say it was 100% the right choice. From the very first phone call right through to passing my flight skill test (FST) yesterday it was fantastic. The course material, level of delivery and quality were excellent. Both Jon & Graham were a pleasure to train with and were able to teach a very technical subject in a way that you can understand quickly and efficiently. The course I chose was the 5 day fast track, which as it suggests is a course designed to get you through both ground school the FST and submission to the CAA for the PfCO. As long as you accept that this course requires you to work hard then you will be fine and will have loads of fun!”

“Good afternoon all. The course was quite a surprise and opened my eyes to the rules and regulations regarding flying (drones). I left with a completely different attitude - a good one of course, my views regarding gps also changed. The instructor was first class and made what was initially daunting into an enjoyable course.
