There were an enormous number of medical questions to be dealt with probably age related. This is the first request for cover, si really can't give a practical star rating.

I have used Explorer Travel Insurance for a few years now, never had any problems and it's simple and easy to understand with great cover.

I insured my mum and was accepted with this company in april 2019 which was a good policy for the price we paid given she had several medical issues for a cruise in october ...on 20th August my mum has a fall so I thought I was doing the right thing by declaring this to the company bug was told that they could no longer insure her with her having a fall which was a shock with only 5 weeks to go before the cruise and to twist the knife they said if I cancelled the now invalid insurance my mum would only get back 50% of what she paid!!! Totally unacceptable... I feem like we have been ripped off by this very uncaring company

I made a claim, Re URV377050, on 23rd May for a holiday on 10th May that was cancelled due to my travelling companion having suffered a stroke and having subsequent surgery. After much exchange of correspondence I was advised on 16th August that the claim had been authorised and the settlement sum would be transferred to my bank within 5 working days. It is now SEPTEMBER 2nd and no such funds have arrived.

Website was easy to use. Prices were competitive. I usually change insurers every year but continued for a second as I could not beat the quote. Not made a claim but all dealings have been useful, helpful and informative.
