“We brought the portable Mayfair. It was easy to assemble. Not as sturdy as it looked in the picture, but easily moveable which is what we were after. All the screws were in labelled bags so building it was fine and it has already weathered a fair bit of rain. Only downside was we didn't feel the customer services was overly friendly when we called them to book delivery and in this day and age being told delivery would be between 9am and 6pm and that someone needed to be home to sign for it was a major disadvantage. I believe for £17.99 delivery they should really give you a morning or afternoon delivery slot then we wouldn't have had to take the whole day off work.”

“Efficient delivery service. Assembled Coop in 3 hours. Instructions should be larger. It is helpful to have screws all in marked plastic bags No written advice regarding putting additional preservative on unit; telephoned and told not to put any on internal panels Not acquired my chickens so no feedback yet from primary stakeholders!”

“This is the second hen house that I have purchased from Eggshell. Firstly the product is extremely well designed and constructed. Appreciate the 12mm external wall and room boarding. The first has come through an extremely harsh North Yorkshire winter, and my little flock has been snug warm and dry. I have painted the outside with boat vanish and there has been not evidence of deterioration. Putting together is easy, but because of weight best done near to or on the permanent site. I have easily fitted an automatic poop hole opener/closer and this has meant that I can have that extra ten minutes (!) in bed in the morning, and if I have a late night, I know that my girls will be secure and snugged up without my intervention. In addition, I have built a 40cm high table to stand my hen houses on from 22 x 150mm rough sawn tanalised timber. This makes for my ladies being well away from vermin and predators. The table also provides useful daytime protection from wind and rain so that feathers don't get ruffled and wet and keeps feed dry (put ply boarding around two sides). Done the same this year, and converted the underside of the table into two useful brood chambers. From a human point of view, the extra height makes mucking out and collecting eggs ever so easy. So a well manufactured and designed product that I am confident will give my hens many years of service. Highly recommended”

“The product itself was easy to put together and looks very nice, time will tell how the elements affect it. As for delivery, I did not appreciate paying out 200+ pounds just to have to take a whole day off work. Delivery time quoted between 9AM and 6PM, I asked them to narrow it a little to be told they couldn't! Other than that so far I and my ladies are happy”

“The coop arrived on time but had the wrong instructions inside. I had to wait 2 hours for them to be emailed to me and that after several phone calls. One of the bolts came loose very quickly so has been replaced. The fastening clips have already begun to rust. The wooden construction is of good quality and easy to clean and the chickens are happy.”

“Delivery was on time the only thing I had to do was repair the damage next to the door and put lock back on nest box and adjust one bolt hole on nest box overall a good quality product.”

“Packs recieved on time and in good condition. Immediately apparent that the coop was well made and well thought out. Putting it together was reasonably straightforward but would have been easier if the instruction/parts sheet had been on a larger scale with clearer diagrams. This is my only gripe and in no way detracts from the excellence of the product.”

“Within 5 mins of placing order i received a phone call to agree next day delivery. The instructions for assembling the hut were a bit difficult to understand but never the less was built in less than 3 hrs. Very happy with the result, real value for money”

“Delighted with the Gertrude henhouse. Prompt delivery and good quality. Unfortunately the base of the nestbox seems to have been assembled upside down, with the grooves uppermost, making it difficult to clean. Otherwise excellent.”

“Lovely solid coop and run - all screws bagged separately and holes in coop pre-drilled so you couldn't really go wrong! Phone call from Eggshell the next day to confirm delivery date which was quicker than the 3-5 day opted for! I was able to change day with no problems, as the 3-5 day delivery was chosen with my work pattern in mind! What can I say - absolutely brilliant from all aspects!”

“Our coop was delivered as promised, well-packaged and complete. The instructions were very clear, all the components clearly marked and complete (including one each extra screws and bolts, a nice touch). Everything fitted together well. Really impressed with the product and the service; I would recommend.”
