“Purchasing the most expensive watch you’ve ever invested in… is a stressful event! Due to my extensive research into Daytona Rolex watches I have conversed with many retailers and watch enthusiasts. Two conversations from local reputable northeast repair companies recommended the delightful proprietor of the Edinburgh Watch Company Ltd ‘Jonathon Gilbert’. The dual recommendation instigated an investigation. Jonathon provides an on-line service for quality Rolex watches and other quality watch services and the reviews were all positive. Conversations on the phone were extensive and Jonathon was able to capture every desire we had for a watch. Despite this, exchanging a huge investment still made me wobble slightly; therefore we requested a personal meeting. As Jonathon is an on-line retailer, he met us at his local quality hotel where he is obviously well respected. The hotel provides him with his own comfortable and professional business conference room. It was here we were able to build a rapour. Jonathon taught me how to adjust my own Rolex watch and allowed me to review his professional history (intensely). When a trust was built, we got down to business…. Having built confidence, I purchased the beautiful brand new 2017 Daytona Rolex watch for my husband’s 50th birthday. Having done the research and got the reputable recommendations, I achieved the purchase of a Daytona watch – aged from the year of my husband’s 50th birthday…. And get this…. £1000 cheaper than on the high street. Needless to say that £1000 savings went towards a luxury mini weekend celebration. Thank you Jonathon for being so honest, knowledgeable and trustworthy. I wish you all the best and thank you for providing us with memorable moments and a gift that will be passed through generations. A happy husband = a happy wife/family xxxx”

“I have just sold a watch and bought two watches from The Edinburgh Watch Company and dealing with Jonathan has been a real pleasure. He is very knowledgable and extremely honest. Both watches were sent overnight and delivered by 1pm the following day as promised, with constant helpful contact throughout the sale and purchases. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend EWC to sell or purchase a watch from.”

“Having met Jonathan at a couple of car shows I found him to be very knowledgable on his and other products and he was always keen to advise and help with enquiries. On a recent post by EWC a Hublot caught my eye and Jonathan was on hand to help and visit to conlude the purchase. I would recommend to anyone that EWC are super to deal with and their honesty and integrity is first class. Jonathan thank you and best wishes for the future. I will see you again. Just don't tell the wife.”

“I had been looking for a Rolex watch for a good period of time I was dubious about purchasing a watch without actually seeing the watch first as I had had a disappointing experience recently. Having spoken to Jonathan on the phone and asked no end of question, he was more that happy to answer all of them, send me detailed photos and even a video clip to satisfy my concerns. Having purchased the watch I am very happy with it, it was delivered on the day I asked and its exactly as I expected and described. I would have no hesitation about purchasing another watch from Jonathan at EWC, a true gentleman when it comes to watches, there's not many of them about these days.”

“I have just received my watch from Jonathan this morning (rolex submariner 14060M). I must say I don't normally write reviews but on this occasion I feel I must. Jonathan was probably the most honest and genuine person I've ever bought a watch from. From the minute I made an enquiry on his website he called me up and spoke to me at length about the watch, shortly after Jonathan sent me a personal video in high definition under strong lighting showing me the condition of the watch and all its accessories. Once payment was made Jonathan then called me personally himself to confirm he had received payment. Shipping was next working day and fully tracked and insured. Jonathan then called me personally again to make sure I was happy with my new watch. I would honestly give him 10 out of 10 and I wish the Edinburgh watch company all the best, this is an honest business that's ran professionally who put the customer above all else. I will undoubtedly buy another watch from Jonathan in the future and will recommend him to friends and family. Jonathan thanks again for an amaizing service and fantastic watch. Daniel.”

“I saw an Omega on the website and sent Jonathan an email. He responded within minutes. Met him the following week for a drink, we chatted about watches and he took me through my new purchase with patience. I cannot recommend Jonathan enough. No where gives you a personal service any more and it is refreshing. Suspect my next purchase wont be too far away!”

“My wife and I travelled to Edinburgh to view a rare and iconic watch that I've dreamed of owning my whole life, (Rolex Pepsi bezel). We sat, we chatted, we had a drink and eventually we talked watches. The meeting just flowed and we did a part exchange on my watch against the new one with ease. So much so that went there was a problem with the transaction, Jonathan agreed we could take the watch and pay the next day! There was trust from the start. Both my wife and I enjoyed meeting Jonathan and the experience of buying a mint condition (almost unworn) Rolex Pepsi that will continue to accumulate in value. Jonathan runs a passionate boutique business and I am sure (wife permitting) I will buy from him time and time again.”

“As we set off for the day, the thought of buying another watch couldn't have been further from my mind. We make our way around the arena I spot the stall of Edinburgh Watch Co (EWC) at the other end of the venue. I quietly said to myself I'll have a sneaky wee peek when the wife's not looking. Two rotating glass displays with three tiers in each, I wasn't expecting to see anything exciting, but let's have a browse anyway. Tags Heuer, Tudor, Rolex. all on display. OK, now my eyes and excitement perk up a little. But that was just the appetisers, the main course begins when I start to chat with the gentleman who owns this stall. He introduces himself as Jonathan Gilbert, and begins to tell me the history behind the watch I was looking at, with passion and detail that doesn't come from just reading and repeating it back, but genuine enthusiasm and desire for high end luxury watches. Something I haven't come across in a long time. He proceeds with a small explanation of how this company began and the vision he has in mind. I could chat and listen for hours. As we start to come to a conclusion on our deal, I am informed he doesnt have the box or the paperwork and also has no switch capabilities with him but could do a bank transfer on Monday morning, and he would be happy to accept a verbal sale and if that worked for me. I gave Jonathan all the relevant details he asks for and conclude our deal with a nice firm handshake. Stating I will be in touch when I have transfered the funds, and he can inform me of the tracking information. When the watch arrives, again I am pleasantly surprised as I find a note from Jonathan thanking me for my custom and wishing me many years of enjoyment with my watch. In future I will be recommending EWC and in particular Jonathan to anyone who is looking to purchase a luxury watch. With second to none knowledge and customer service to match.”

“Had an absolutely fantastic experience with Johnathan, very warm welcome. We sat with coffee and spoke about cars for nearly twenty minutes before even talking about the watch! seemed like i was catching up with an old friend. He is extremely professional, and very knowledgeable. You can tell he has great pride and passion in what he does. The whole experience is very personal, which you don't get from all the big watch retailers. The watch itself was in near perfect condition and at a bargain price too. Do not hesitate buying from Edinburgh Watch Company, you will not be disappointed!”

“Fantastic service from Jonathan and EWC. I was lucky to buy an Omega Seamaster 300M from EWC and it was a great process from start to finish. I live in Ireland, so didn't get the chance to deal with EWC in person, but Jonathan answered all emails and queries promptly. He is very affable and approachable and he sent me the watch quickly, it was brilliantly packaged and the watch was exactly as advertised. It's great to have a watch dealer you can trust and I can't recommend Jonathan highly enough. I'll definitely be going back to him for more watches!”

“Jonathan was very friendly and helpful and even though the sale was completed by post/over the phone I still had the experience you look for when purchasing a luxury watch as he had personalised a note for me in the box. The actual watch was 100% as described - in mint condition so I could not ask for more.”
