Nice cars for hire, really helpful and friendly staff. Good having the out of hours drop off facility. My only bit of constructive criticism is trying to book a vehicle on line is not easy. Most times I have tried I get through to payment stage but my payment can’t be processed but it doesn’t say why. When I phoned up to book they said it maybe because the vehicle is not available. Plus then when it does say payment gone through I then get an email 24hrs later saying that the vehicle I tried to book is not available but no suggestions of alternatives. I then have to go through the process again choosing a different vehicle only to get another email saying that other vehicle I chose is also not available! Can I suggest the website only shows vehicles that are available on the dates that someone is enquiring then will avoid this issue. Or to have a member of staff call the customer to advise them the vehicle is not available and discuss through available alternatives. Thankyou.

I was greatly impressed by the fantastic personal service I received, which is a refreshing change. Really helpful and efficient staff and a great van. I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else.

This company are amazing!!! I live in Poole yet would only use Dorset Vehicle Rentals even though there are many others on my doorstep. The Vans are always pretty new, great friendly service, nothings too much trouble. I would give them 5*

Good initial contact by phone. Clear communication. Very efficient pickup and drop-off. Good treatment by staff, and friendly welcome. Good new car at a reasonable price.

accepted my on line booking then when I went to collect no van available, then one came within 5 minutes!, then then charged me for not booking on line, a complete shower!!

Hello, I have looked into this for you. When you book online you are sending us a booking request which we must either accept or reject depending on availability. The booking you made online was rejected which means we never took this money it would have simply been pending in your account. If for any reason you have not received this back you will need to contact your bank. A different vehicle to what you booked online must have come available when you came in to collect & we were able to help you hire this vehicle. The service was good and the staff were great. However, I was disappointed at the high excess that I was unable to reduce. I have previously rented from your company, have a uk licence but because I live currently overseas and didn’t have my National Insurance to hand was constantly concerned about having to pay such a high amount should there be any damage. This is likely to prevent me from renting from this company again.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Without a national insurance number, we are unable to check your UK licence & do the hire. For you to hire the vehicle we had to do it on your non-UK licence which requires a higher deposit and excess. Really clean and modern Ford van. Very comfortable drive. Only downside was the number of people in the checking in to collect their vehicle. It took about 45 minutes until I was served. The staff were excellent, polite and helpful despite having to wait a long time for their morning cuppa!

Straight forward as usual with the guys, a bit of a wait to pick vehicle and low fuel in tank even though I arrived before 8.00am. Got away at 08.25 am plus time to pick up fuel.

I had ordered a SUV specifically to transport my dying father to my mothers internment - 8 hour round trip. I rang in advance to double check that a SUV specifically as it would accommodate my father in comfort for the long journey. When I arrived to pick the car up, I was given an estate car which wasn't what I ordered. It was extremely difficult to get my wheelchair bound father into the car and it was an incredibly uncomfortable journey. It was unnecessary and entirely avoidable.

Front passenger tyre needed to be inflated and was plugged, no information regarding tyre pressure on the door frame in PSI only Bars. No manual with car, not much information given by assistant when asked questions relating to switches and controls of the vehicle. Overall the service regarding the hire transaction was excellent, quick and fast. Would highly recommend.

Unfortunately, we do not send any of our vehicles out with the manuals as they tend to 'go missing'. Did you ring the 08000 51 52 53 number and speak to maintenance for help with the tyre pressure?
