We can see that our customer service team contacted the supplier as soon as we were made aware of the issue, in order to get this resolved ASAP. Unfortunately, because of the time of year and the high demand for many suppliers' products and services, lead times for replacements can be slightly longer than usual. “Didn't arrive on due date. No phone call to say why until I telephoned. My son lost a days work £120, waiting in all day. Wrote an email asking for some compensation- no reply. Not good!”

Hi Claire, Thanks for your review. We were sorry to hear of the delay experienced. As per our terms and conditions, our Dispatch team aims to "inform you of the anticipated delivery date for the goods which you have ordered and any date notified to you for delivery will be approximate only". We do appreciate the inconvenience caused by the delay, and can only apologise on behalf of our delivery partner. As we use third party couriers for delivery purposes, we are not always given immediate notice of delay to delivery; upon your having notified our team of the issue, we immediately contacted the supplier to find out the reason for the delay and to advise of the new expected delivery date, which happened to be the following day. Though this is thankfully rare, delays can and do happen around this time of year due to the very high demand on pallet networks and these are often outside of our control. “Kiln dried wood was excellent and arrived in a builders bag on a pallet as described. The wood is burning really well. The delivery company arrived on time and the driver was very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful . Great experience”

Hi Kerry, Thanks for your review and for taking the time to upload a photo of your new electric stove. We were sorry to hear of the issue experienced with the delivery. As you'll be aware, our Dispatch team contacted you on the 13/9 to advise that the supplier had unexpectedly fallen out of stock of the cupboard base, and that they were awaiting the next shipment. We had given an expected lead time as per the best available information from our supplier, but had stressed that any lead time was an estimate based on the high demand for heating appliances at present. This along with delay to shipping between the courier's mainland UK and Northern Ireland depots meant that delivery was somewhat later than anticipated, and we can only apologise for any inconvenience. “I recently purchased the Axon Keswick wood burning/multifuel Ecodesign stove and fitting kit from Direct Stoves. I was very impressed with the fast delivery and ease of use of the website. I ordered the stove on a Monday morning and it arrived on Wednesday afternoon. The fitting kit was also included in the delivery. The stove itself is excellent quality and looks great in my living room. It is easy to use and produces a lot of heat. The fitting kit was also very comprehensive and easy to follow. I would highly recommend Direct Stoves to anyone looking for a wood burning stove. They have a great selection of stoves to choose from and their customer service is excellent.”

“My stoves are lovely and the guy I hired to fit them has done a great job. I was, however, disappointed by Direct Stoves customer service and delivery times. My stove was delivered outside of the advised time frame and the company was not the least bit bothered or inclined to help me find out when they would be delivered! Based on this, I'd probably buy elsewhere if I need to again.”

That said, we're sorry for any inconvenience in terms of delivery. Regarding the two-man delivery option selected at checkout, we recommend an additional 5-10 working days on top of our usual lead times, as this service is in high demand at this time of year and does require additional time for booking. We can see that you were contacted within this time frame and advised of an available delivery slot on the 5th October 2023. The lead time is an estimate and we appreciate that, in terms of physical delivery, we went slightly over the suggested 5-10 working days on this occasion. I can however see that our Dispatch team made every effort to get this to you as quickly as we could and that we were simply limited by driver availability. “Arrived on time and nicely crated up. Very fast on delivery and a great customer service with advice and making the purchase smooth. Plenty of good technical advice on me getting the right stove. Very easy installation, my wife loves the nice clean lines of the stove. Just love it. Highly recommend.”

“Easy to navigate site. Plenty of choice. The only reason I'm not giving a 5 is because the carrier they chose to use charge £75 if you want the fire brought in to the house. My parents chose free delivery as they are on a tight budget and the driver left the fire outside in the rain. It was 3 hours before we could finish work and take it indoors. It was upsetting. That said, the fire is in and looks lovely. They love it and it's had many compliments from neighbours who are also shocked it was left on the doorstep. Just something to think of to add £75 on each price if you want it over the front step.”
