Very helpful staff in the showroom and good communications with the fitting team. Contractor fitters used, but both the gas and electrical fitters were excellent. Really pleased with our new fire. The only thing I was non-plussed about was why I had to pay Direct Fireplaces £60 for fitting when I then needed to pay the fitters directly for their work - arrangement fee?

Hi, Thank you for your review. It's great to hear that our showroom team was so helpful and that you are pleased with the new fire. To clarify, we at Direct Fireplaces had only taken payment for the fire itself inclusive of VAT and delivery. Our fitting team at Direct Heating Services (our sister company) is responsible for coordinating installation dates, arranging deliveries to coincide with installations and vetting local installers. Fitting quotations issued through Direct Heating Services will carry a small additional fee for administrative services. The fitter for your order will have been subcontracted through Direct Heating Services, with a deposit payable to DHS upon booking. I hope that this information helps. The ordering process of purchasing a fire surround was very good. Unfortunately, the 3-5 days delivery time stretched into over 3 weeks which meant having to ring Direct Fireplaces more than once to ask about progress. It would have been more helpful if the company had contacted me directly and let me know of delays, etc, rather than me as the customer, having to chase. No complaints about Direct Fireplace staff, as both people I spoke to on the phone were very apologetic and helpful, and very friendly.

Well laid out showroom. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Delivery took over 4 weeks, but I'm not blaming them for that. Fire looks great, if a bit noisier than we'd envisaged Overall a positive exerience so far - thanks

sirs.i am very pleased with the fire and the service that i have rceived.just the one problem one of the ceramics is cracked over its lenght and i fear it might break compleatly.i have e-mailed clair dickinson and she is dealing.the fire is great and warms the room quite fast.

Sales team were good… helpful and knowledgeable. However after sales there was very little communication. I had to call numerous times to chase up delivery and installation.

I am pleased with the look of the fireplace and the work undertaken by the fitters who were hard working, tidy and pleasant. I have however noticed some damage to the chimney breast in the kitchen caused when they were making the space in the wall in the living room. I was also surprised to be left with all the rubble to dispose of. It would have been helpful if it had been sorted into bags of rubble, plasterboard and general waste as the tip will only allow rubble to be tipped into that skip so they had to be sorted before getting rid of!!

Good choice and decent prices. Installation clean and efficient but let down by the lack af any facility to take away the removed fireplace.

Our installation team vets qualified fitters up and down the country to ensure good coverage and quality service, but unfortunately not every engineer has the waste disposal license necessary to offer removals. This is generally made explicit in any quotation or correspondence issued by the installation team. If you have any other concerns or queries then please don't hesitate to get in touch. Excellent sales team, surveyor and gas fitters Only negative was left with all the rubbish to dispose of eg flue, bricks etc which I hadn,t expected

Many of the installers recommended by ourselves do not have the waste disposal licenses required for taking away old flue components, bricks etc., and would generally advise of this in any installation quotation. We purchased a remote control, coal effect gas fire in March 2024. We had a disagreement over the delivery and installation date but this was resolved to our satisfaction. The fire is working perfectly and we are absolutely delighted with it.

Lack of communication was an issue for me!!! It was several weeks after paying for my new fire that. It was fitted. The lady who sold me the fire was great, the man who fitted the fire couldn't have been nicer!!!! But not knowing when the fire would be delivered and then waiting for fitting was not great. Sorry!!!!!

We had a gas fueled log burner fitted at the end of February. Just one hiccup, there was a delay on fitting as the grate had been broken on delivery to Direct Fireplaces so we had to wait a couple of weeks for the replacement. Aside from that the fitters were very polite & tidy & the result is perfect. We would reccomend this company. Would have been 5 stars but for the unfortunate delay.
