Easy to order online. The product arrived within time. It was missing a damper plate. However, customer services were great - keeping in touch, contacting the supplier and damper plate arrived in the post. So good all round

The fireplaces are excellent. I had a problem with the electric fire: I was sent a gas fire. The electric fire I had an insert which I didn’t need. I decided to send it back and bought one locally.

When we ordered our new fire the expected delivery was 3 to 5 working days , it came within 2 days, the small feet at the bottom were missing, after phoning they were dispatched by first class post and arrived the next day, excellent service,

Unfortunately, I have awarded 1 star too many, but couldn't give a review without giving a star. Keep looking. Don't use this company. Unless you want endless problems. Bought a fire beginning of January, fault found on installation so couldn't be installed properly. Reported straight away. Can't get anyone to fix fault until June. The fire never worked. Wouldn't ignite. Not happy.

Hi, Thanks for your review. We were sorry to hear of the issue experienced with the fire upon receipt. We can see that our customer service team were contacted at the end of January to report the ignition problem. Unfortunately, despite our colleagues having escalated this issue through our supplier, the continued high demand for gas fires had limited availability on the part of their gas engineers. We had made every effort to expedite this process but the fact of the matter was that both the product fault and the delay in inspection and repair were complications on the supplier's end and largely outside of our control. Though we appreciate the great inconvenience, we can see that the customer service team eventually agreed to collection and a full refund so as to address the problem as best we could on our end, and to bring a resolution. This was of course no-one's preferred means of rectification but would have been to limit further inconvenience. This all having been said, we’re sorry that we didn’t deliver the 100% satisfactory experience that we strive for at Direct Fireplaces. We will take your feedback on board and would encourage you to let us know if we can offer any advice or assistance in future, Kind regards, Direct Stoves & Fireplaces

The fire arrived on time but had a discolouration on the fret so reported the fault and they had another one sent to me immediately. The fire hasn't been fitted yet so can't give a comment on it working but fire looks great 👍

Direct Fireplaces is a Great company to deal with. Delivery estimate 6/7 weeks came with in 3 weeks a lot faster than anticipated. Due to its early arrival it is yet to be installed but quality looks good from what we can see on surface. Hopefully no damaged parts and will look stunning when installed.

Would be of benefit if we were aware that we ours have to unpack the crate and carry the fireplace into the house, I was home alone and had a real struggle to unpack and carry the very heavy marble into my house, also no instructions on fitting

As part of the free one-man service that we offer, the driver should transport the pallet as close to the property as is safe and feasible, providing level ground with no steep slopes or gravel driveways. We do advise under the delivery information on our product listing that a two-man delivery service is available at additional cost (this meaning that our shipping partners can transport goods into a room of your choosing) and ask that customers contact us directly if this would be of interest. It is always advisable to have an expert fitter to hand in assembling marble or limestone fireplaces, due to the nature and weight of components. This said, we would encourage you to get in touch with our customer service team if you do need any advice or assistance in terms of installation. Firstly Direct fireplaces have very competitive prices and was very easy to order online. The limestone fireplace was extremely well packaged on a pallet and in a purpose-built wooden crate interspersed with foam dividers, so as not to chip the limestone. So we are pleased.

I am in throes of upgrading a Grade II rental property and I needed to replace the existing fireplace. I had previously purchased a fireplace from Direct Fireplaces and was extremely pleased with the service and the final result.

The main reason I haven't given 5 stars, and, maybe it deserves them, but not having glass over the front means the rocks and logs are free to be moved or touched. This fire is not suitable for a home with children or pets that may and probably will pick them up, very dangerous. I am now having to glass glue amounts of the rocks together to make them safer and not small enough to swallow. Only have a dog but this would be too tempting. ALso need to check if the red light stays on in the centre when plugged in but not on ?
