Before we ordered the fire we paid for a survey to check that the fire would fit, this took serveral weeks so we could notget the fire fitted in August but October. The 2 men that fitted the fire seemed experieced and tidy. My main problem is that we chose the fire to heat the room but most of the heat goes up the flue and not into the room The controls are not very responsive and I am unhappy with the fire performance . I would like an expert to visit the house to check the fires performance

We can see that you had, via the showroom, agreed to a survey in order to ensure suitability of your chosen fire for your property. As we're sure you can appreciate, this necessitates engineer availability for the survey and then the subsequent installation. Our fitting team at Direct Heating Services had looked to book these with you as soon as they could and can only apologise for any inconvenience. The item which you purchased is in fact among the most efficient and highest output open-fronted fires that we offer, at 73.7% listed efficiency and 4.61kW approx. output. As we're sure you can appreciate, there are many factors that can affect performance including (but not limited to) weather conditions and the location of your property and flue. If you wished to speak to a gas safe fitter regarding the performance of the fire, we would suggest emailing your order details to our fitting team at servicing@directheatingservices.com and they should be able to advise further. My Experience with Direct Fireplaces was excellent. From going into the showroom, which was a very straightforward, informative, visit. My appointments were arranged at the time, and all appointments happened exactly as planned, well done Dillon at the showroom. The fittings was fast and excellent and the Fire Place looks great.

I ordered a gas fire which she have been delivered within 3-5 days of ordering, 5 weeks later and a lot of emails it was delivered, they cannot guarantee a delivery date

Hi Christopher, Thanks for your review. We are sorry for any delay in receipt of the gas fire. As you mention, the fire selected at checkout would normally be a 3-5 working day lead time but on this occasion, the supplier had fallen out of stock of some necessary components. We can see that our Dispatch team had provided a revised estimate on the lead time once notified. Unfortunately, and while significant delays are infrequent, they can and do occur on occasion due to factors outside of our control. We do appreciate the inconvenience caused and can only apologise for the length of time between ordering and receipt. If we can offer any further advice or assistance then please do let us know. I was very pleased with the advice and service in the showroom and also impressed by the knowledge and helpfulness of staff. I love my mantelpiece and plinth and they match my living room brilliantly. The engineer, Mark, was also very good, skilful, well organised and helpful. Had the actual fire been fit for purpose the review would have been excellent. Sadly the base fire coals and the fascia were both damaged when the box was opened and the fire could not be used, it was not fit for purpose. Mark, the engineer was very apologetic and emailed the office straight away, a replacement was needed. It is two weeks later and three times I have had to ring up and enquire what is happening. I have had no apology and no updates. I am extremely disappointed and still don't know when the fire will be completed. I understand that accidents happen. What I don't understand is that the company did not keep me informed, gave no apology and seemed to show little urgency to put the situation right.

This said, we are sorry for any inconvenience relating to the gas fire. To confirm relating to the issue reported, our Dispatch team has ordered replacement parts for the fire to be delivered to our warehouse in due course. As soon as these are in stock, our team will be in touch to make further arrangements. We can only apologise for the delay in receiving these parts. Unfortunately, we are in a very busy period for heating appliances and it has in some instances taken longer than usual for our suppliers to dispatch goods. Please be assured that our Customer Service team does take any issues seriously and that they have been chasing the supplier to try and ensure a resolution ASAP. The staff at the showroom and on the phone when organising the disconnection and installation of the fire were extremely helpful and very friendly. The 2 contractors that came out to the property were also extremely helpful and professional.

Direct Fireplaces have a wide range of fireplaces and surrounds that will suit all budgets. We just wanted a small wall-mounted electric fire, but one with a bit of style and that would add character to an otherwise plain room in our grade-II listed barn conversion, but equally which wouldn't cost the earth. We found such a fire among the many available. I did have a technical question to ask, that I submitted to the website, and was pleased to get a response a couple of days later. The fire was delivered shortly afterwards, and we are very pleased with it. A word of caution though. I contacted the installation team to see about the possibilility of the fire being installed professionally (I am not the best at DIY), but was shocked to be quoted £265, which is a ludicrous amount, especially when I opened the instructions and found all that was needed were 4 holes being drilled into the wall !

Would recommend Direct Fireplaces, the staff were very friendly and helpful, answering a couple of queries I had promptly. The fire was delivered on the date and time agreed. The trim was out of stock at time of ordering but I was informed when it had arrived and a member of staff delivered it the same day!

We drove over to Bromsgrove where we were greeted by two of your sales team and immediately offered a cup of coffee. After just ten minutes, we had found exactly what we wanted and made the purchase at a very fair price. Within five days, as promised, it had arrived. The installation took me half an hour.
