“I have generally been very happy with JD Motors. Now in my 70’s it is usual to be treated as an idiot at most garages, and my daughter likewise (because she is female?). JD do treat us as intelligent people, and seem happy to talk to us on a sensible level. If I were to be super critical there is one thing that I would find most useful. You will know that I own a 25 year old Mk 3 Golf, which is little used and dry garaged, and I like to keep in good condition. For the first time this year the MOT included an advisory regarding corroded vehicle structure. With the car on ramps I could find only two small spots in the centre of the floor panel, which didn’t appear to me to pose a structural problem. There may of course be a more serious problem elsewhere which I could not see. It would be really useful when documenting a vague advisory of this nature, if a brief note could be supplied as to the exact location of the problem. This would, at least, give the opportunity to do something about it before it becomes more obvious, and a possible MOT failure. I hope this note is of some use to you.”

My cars have been serviced at John Delany for just about 10 years, starting with an auto gas conversion in 2008/9 approximately. They tell you what the costs are going to be (which are a lot lower than the main dealers) and what is needed, the staff are friendly, helpful and you don't get lost in technobabble. At the end of the day in the something above 150,000 miles I have covered in the mean time I have not had a breakdown or been stranded on the side of the road, hence I carry on getting my car serviced at John Delany, why wouldn't you?”
