“Good content, easy to follow training videos & good feedback from assessors.
My only gripe is that the best anyone can achieve is just a pass. There isn’t a grading on the certificate such as a merit or distinction. Therefore anyone limping over the finish will have the same qualification as someone whose work was exemplary.”

“Format and content of L3 AET was good to give an easily accessible understanding of the underpinning knowledge, which I used with my experience to complete assessments - not sure if there was always enough content for those without their own field experience to add to it? Online portal easy to navigate, and I say that with only adequate IT skill! I would have greatly benefitted from physical resource and a video conferencing induction with tutor, which along with virtual workshops are now available, so that's an improvement. More interactive webinars would also be beneficial, to give as much of a learning community environment to online teaching as possible. A reminder that course deadline was due would have been helpful, quite disconcerting to find your portal closed one day! However, on the occasions I called the CTC helpline, the staff I spoke to were excellent - extremely amiable and helpful. Last but not least, my tutor Angela was fabulous at getting me through at the end, presumably going a little above and beyond to get me finished on time, with a very supportive attitude, but pushing for your potential. I do wish the induction had been there for me so that I realised that sooner; to interpret correspondence it is essential that people 'meet' virtually.
On the whole, the course is adequate for online learning, but all the improvements to make it more interactive are much needed for a better experience (especially for this particular course to practice what it preaches), and Angela has a great teaching presence in video workshops to enable this.”

“There was no actual training to be fair but the joining statement gives all the details of where to reference from and which books to purchase for learning. Feed back from my particular Assessor could have been better as to what extra details were required for answers. However, the right results have been obtained and I look forward at some point to taking level 4.”

There are very out dated concepts of learning has not kept up with changes of teaching during the pandemic

This course was written over 5 years ago so it definitely needs a refresh all the dates still say 2019”

Hi - thanks for your kind words on the knowledge and expertise of our trainers. We apologise for the time it took to mark certain assignments. This is due to a huge increase in submissions at the start of the year. We will be addressing this with some additional staff hires to cope with this. We hope you consider us for your next qualification!
“A clear and logical format, though with a couple of bugbears along the way. Being reminded that I hadn't logged in was simply irritating, and it would have been good to get some warning that the whole thing was being moved onto an entirely new platform. Feedback during the first half of the course was sparse, but improved during the second half. Having followed the instructions to upload the microlesson onto a third party's platform, it wasn't then downloaded to look at until, being prompted by that third party that the link was about to expire after a week, I contacted CTC to prompt them to do so. Having then followed the further instructions given by CTC, a further prompt was necessary before it was actually looked at and graded. That took three weeks in total, beyond what the T&Cs state. Overall, the course and the materials were good, though some tweaks to improve the service given would be beneficial.”
Thanks for your review. Unfortunately, when people take a number of years to complete the course and have a number of free extensions beyond the 12 months paid for, things may change part way through to keep our materials fresh and keep up with the changing online marketplace. Many of our customers enjoy having 1 email a month from us to offer support and we are very sorry that this annoyed you. Additionally, We are sorry that grading your work took longer than usual but we do provide advice and guidance on recording your sessions and uploading them directly into the online system without trying to use third party software to help prevent delays. We are very pleased you managed to complete your qualification with us and wish you all the very best for the future.

“This course was really good for my EHS training profession, the written elements and assignments were difficult in parts, which challenged me in areas of my knowledge and understanding (even for a veteran like myself) but this was the point, i learned allot.”
