As a start-up, the importance of getting my finances in order at the beginning is imperative. When I enlisted the help of Crunch, it didn't take long for me to realise my company accounts were (and still are) in good hands. My team of support and accounting professionals are always on hand to provide assistance and jargon-free support. Really happy with the service and online tools. Can't recommend Crunch highly enough!

I joined Crunch Accounting as I set up a limited company while working as a contractor and it has been terrible. 1. I have had around 5-10 account managers 2. I have had around 5-10 accountants 3. With 1. & 2. my account has been passed on person to person and communication between people and departments has been terrible. 4. With all the information that was uploaded to the site, the accountants still were unable to write up the appropriate documents and kept asking for information that was already on the system, 5. On closing the limited company as moved back to PAYE, I was asked to completed the DS10 and other documentation, on completing this and sending the information back I waited over 3 months for Crunch Accounting to action. I had to keep calling throughout the time to see what was going on, but no one seemed to have a clue..... 6. I was offered a free self assessment as an apology (final one, as company closed), but Crunch accounting managed to mess up again. They took a P60 I sent to them (which covered the whole year, for all jobs), then added a wage from a P45, therefore inflating my wage and coming back to me, saying I will need to pay nearly £7,000 in tax...!? Wrote back to explain the error and have all amended, it was finally and reduced the tax to £1.80 only!!! But, like always and even though I had accepted the £1.80 tax, I was sent a further email from someone else this time asking me to check and approve the tax return and information.....HOW MANY TIMES TO I NEED TO CHECK THE SAME DOCUMENT??? I a nut shell: Terrible communication, terrible turn around of staff, incapability of doing accounting and never the same person dealing with you. Please do NOT use, I am sure there are more professional companies out there. I can't wait to be finished with!!

Having been a customer of CRUNCH Accounting for 5 years now, I feel I am in a position to write an honest and sensible review. Crunch assisted me in the initial set up of my limited company. The process was slick and painless, which for a complete novice as I was, was a godsend. Once established, with the help of a superbly personable and friendly and knowledgeable Account Manager, I migrated from an umbrella company with no problems at all. When I made my wife a shareholder, the process was handled with the alacrity and professionalism that I have come to expect from CRUNCH. At intervals throughout the year, I get pinged with reminders - Year End / P11D submission / VAT etc. Not only does this stop me missing the deadlines, but the submissions themselves are a "check and send" process. I can honestly say that no submission has taken more than 1 hour to check and complete, and often is a check box declaration. The Accountancy services themselves are, ironically, an unseen feature. The software and iPhone App both allow the basics - expenses / invoices etc- to be logged with significant ease. Reconciling my accounts - which I do monthly, takes about an hour to 90 minutes for a busy month because the system matches your expense entries etc in the system with your bank statement. Finally, I must mention the team themselves. There are a couple of reviews on here that are simply unjust. The team are extremely helpful and can be contacted directly by phone and email. They adhere to HMRC processes as you would expect, and as they are staffed with a combination of "Career Accountants" and ex HMRC professionals, can advise on most matters within minutes. Unfortunately, their hands are tied by HMG process so sometimes things take a little longer to resolve, but as a business person, you will already be aware of and prepared for this. I have, over my time, made some significant accounting errors, had "unusual" conversations with HMRC (when they tried to refund me my Corporation Tax) and required some in depth assistance and support. The Team at CRUNCH have never failed to support me, and often have simply taken the issue on themselves and advised me of the outcome. They are keen, personable, professional and diligent and can support new starters and established firms alike. I cannot recommend them highly enough. The service provided for the price I pay is exemplary.

Crunch has the WORST service I have ever experienced. As a freelancer setting up a limited company for the first time, I needed some support about how best to optimise my personal and company tax affairs. Crunch were unable to provide this service, instead taking a 'one size fits all approach.' My account manager knew absolutely nothing about accounting and when I had a question about the specifics of taxation would simply link me to pages on HRMC's website which I had already read without offering any further advice on the issue or bothering to ask one of the professional accountants who work there (who I assume are too snowed under to actually do anything useful). At one stage my account advisor even gave incorrect tax advice which could have cost me the best part of £10,000. When I left Crunch there was no formal hand over process. I have had to regularly call Crunch to find out basic details like my login number for Companies House and to receive post that was erroneously sent there in error. I strongly advise you to look elsewhere if you are looking for genuine accounting advice. Crunch is little more than software with tech support. I would like at other options such as Xero.

Crunch has revolutionised the way I handle my accounts - I am more organised than ever with little effort, I am never late filing anything and I know where I am with my tax liabilities all year round without having to pay for an expensive accountant or book-keeper. I have been using Crunch since its launch in 2008 and I have never looked back. It is simple to use, I have seen a vast array of improvements and enhancements and yet Crunch has never lost that personal touch with someone always on the end of an email or phone. AND NOW - Crunch Mortgages - fabulous... I have used the same financial advisor for years but getting me a mortgage deal has always been a challenge. I don't pay myself a large salary and banks/mortgage companies have a blinkered view on this. Crunch literally found me a lender overnight based on my day rate and I now have a 5yr fixed deal which I am very happy with ;-)

Great service, really takes the pain out of managing a small business's accounts whilst providing great accounting advice. Extra points for the Snap service which allows taking a snap of a receipt and getting it into the system automatically.

I have had my accounts supported by Crunch for a few years now but the quick turnaround of my end of year accounts by Alexis and Adam was exceptional this year - truly appreciated!

I have been with crunch since last year and they have been very helpful but sometimes robotic. Everything is straight forward with the company but sometimes may it be on my banks side or their side, things can be difficult to rectify. Although recently my new client manager who is covering for paternity leave, has gone out his way with calls, emails and keeps me in the loop with everything. I do believe Marc Castiel is efficient and organised in his job as he is always polite, professional and is jovial on the phone too. I know and feel that I am in good hands with crunch, they deserve 10 out of 10

Ideal for Freelancers, Agency Workers or if you have your own Company. You know exactly where you stand at each moment and know what is yours and what you owe. Easy to use and lovely staff. Wish I had moved to their system years ago. Steve C Brighton

I just signed up with Crunch. Sarah (advisor) took me through the process and not only was it straightforward, but she was courteous, knowledgeable, happy and informed. It was a pleasure. I would've given 5 stars, but a company needs to supply me with free donuts if they want 5 stars.

I started working for myself 3 years ago and I have completed my accounts in 3 ways: Spreadsheet(old fashioned book keeping), Crunch and traditional accountancy. And by far the easiest is Crunch. As with all systems takes some getting used to but when you do it works really well.

Being self-employed can be overwhelming at times, but Crunch makes it easy to keep your accounts up to date. I'be had different managers on my account but I have always found them to be extremely helpful and friendly. The latest senior client manager (Lisa) I dealt with was absolutely fantastic, really patient and very clear in her instructions. I definitely recommend Crunch to other and in fact, have already!

For a large company I've been pleasantly surprised at how eager everyone is to help. I feel more confident in the advice given and support that has been provided than I ever did with my previous accountant. The software is pretty good and easy enough to use, there is always room from improvement there but it usually does everything that I need it to and if I have any questions someone is always happy to help on the phone.

I needed assistance with a query as to reconciling my expenses when my childcare provider had taken double the monthly amount in error. My point of contact at crunch was Marc Castiel who was very friendly, easy to get a hold of and dealt with my queries quickly and efficiently. He called when he said he would and provided additional help and guidance on matters which did not relate to my initial query. This is the kind of service which makes crunch a pleasure to deal with!

The Crunch Accounts Team are just fantastic and have been very supportive. They stepped in to help me out when a couple of mistakes I had made were identified, and nothing was too much trouble. What they did for me was above and beyond and I am truly grateful. If you are considering using some form of online accounting package - Crunch Accounting gets my unconditional vote. The team are friendly, answer your questions in a timely manner, and can help you sort out mistakes you make. Nothing is too much trouble. I have already been with them for 3 years, and look forward to a long ongoing relationship.
