“I wrote this to the hotel with no response. Your voucher said 1 Signature King Room but we were given a double this has caused confusion but there were other issues too as outlined below. Yes we did enjoy our stay and especially the food. I did however feel disappointed that the room we paid for wasn't the room we were allocated, especially after looking at the photographs online again once we returned home. Also we had to remind the reception staff about our welcome drinks voucher which we were told, "Don't worry I'll make sure the dining room knows about it." At the end of the evening we had to tell the waiter again that we had £50 towards our food bill and again I mentioned the drinks voucher as we'd been charged for the full price. At checkout this morning we had to for a third time to remark on the drinks voucher as we were charged for it again. It made us feel very uncomfortable and distrusting. This was our first stay in a hotel since February due to COVID. We were still nervous but really wanted a little treat. We actually should have been in Canada for my husband's 60th birthday. We chose Country Escapes and your hotel as we'd liked what we saw on your website and all the extras made it seem as though it would be a special treat. It is with regret though that I feel disappointed that we had to say anything about the services which your hotel should have known about. It has been a difficult 6 months but still it shouldn't be difficult to provide services which your customer has paid for. I would have considered staying with you again if things had gone more smoothly however, it is unlikely now.”

“The website is really attractive with nice photos and lots of destinations nationwide to choose from. The information is clear and easy to navigate. The consultant was very pleasant and helpful. In fact she went above and beyond to ensure our request was just what we hoped for. She rang the hotel personally to double check the information. We are so pleased with the service we recieved. We will be booking via Country Hotel Breaks again. Highly recommended.”

“Stayed at Macdonald Old England in Windemere. Package exceeded expectations. Dinner and breakfast were superb and the room we were lucky enough to get had a large balcony with the best possible view of the lakes. Found the communication between Country Hotel Breaks and the hotel to be very smooth and would definitely look to book through Country Hotel Breaks for the next getaway.”

“Having used Secret Escapes and Booking.com I stumbled across Country Hotel Breaks by accident. The site was so easy to use with all the info at my finger tips, it’s now my go to site for a quality stay. I spent days going through the other sites but within 30 minutes I’d found the place I wanted.”

“First time using the site after receiving gift voucher. Site is good but I found it frustrating that not enough information was given about the bedrooms e.g, sq ft size of rooms and most importantly the size of the beds. This is supplied on all other sites I've booked through and for me can be a deciding factor.”

“A very good website with some great hotels and deals, I have booked an hotel for September, its ashame they are applying cancellation charges of £35.00 especially in these strange Covid times when people may find themselves having to isolate and have no choice but cancel!”
